Acompañado de la alcaldesa de El Carmen, Liz Hurtado, el funcionario llegó hasta el centro poblado Chamorro Bajo, uno de los más golpeados por el deslizamiento de agua, lodo y piedras, para verificar el estado de las viviendas.

Informó que en el lugar se reportan, de manera preliminar, más de 50 viviendas afectadas, de las cuales 20 casas quedaron destruidas o fueron declaradas inhabitables a consecuencia del fenómeno natural.

Dijo que personal técnico del MVCS viene apoyando al municipio de El Carmen en el levantamiento de información de las viviendas destruidas o declaradas inhabitables, así como en el empadronamiento de las familias afectadas.

Anotó que, concluida esta labor, se elaborará la lista de familias que recibirán el bono de arrendamiento de vivienda para emergencias (BAE), el cual asciende a S/500 mensuales hasta por dos años.

En El Carmen, el viceministro de Vivienda y Urbanismo entregó a los damnificados 400 bolsas de aseo y 125 botellas de agua, de 7 litros cada una.

De otro lado, el representante del MVCS anunció que mañana se enviará maquinaria pesada, como dos volquetes y un tractor oruga, para apoyar en las labores de limpieza de las viviendas y vías afectadas por los huaicos.

La maquinaria también será empleada para reforzar las zonas ribereñas del río Matagente, que en los últimos días registra un aumento en su caudal, a fin de mitigar los riesgos de desbordes.
