Durante su discurso, la jefa de Estado saludó el esfuerzo desplegado por cada uno de los jóvenes beneficiarios, 24 de los cuales pertenecen a comunidades nativas de la Amazonía y de pueblos indígenas y cinco residen en el Valle de los Ríos Apurímac Ene y Mantaro (Vraem).

“Deseo de corazón que sigan adelante, tienen una ruta con luz propia, sigan esa luz y no la apaguen, terminen sus carreras, háganse profesionales y sigan llevando la antorcha de la superación, hagan la maestría, el doctorado, aprendan idiomas que nos abren el mundo”, afirmó.

Asimismo, la mandataria invocó a los jóvenes becarios a avanzar bajo principios éticos, morales y justos, y desterrar la corrupción que tanto daño le hace al país, al tiempo de llamar al sector empresarial a apostar por la juventud que es el presente y futuro de la patria.

Según resaltó la dignataria, los estudios y la acción decidida de los jóvenes contribuirán a impulsar el desarrollo de sus hogares y a cambiar la historia de sus familias.

En noviembre de 2022, 13,601 jóvenes beneficiarios del programa Juntos se presentaron al examen de preselección para acceder a una de las 5,000 becas integrales de Beca 18 del Programa Nacional de Becas y Crédito Educativo (Pronabec) y cursar estudios superiores.

De dicha cifra, 1,820 estudiantes pasaron a la etapa de selección y 965 completaron su inscripción, para finalmente ser aceptados como becarios un total de 148 estudiantes el 20 de marzo pasado.

Los jóvenes pertenecen a las regiones Amazonas, Áncash, Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, La Libertad, Lima, Loreto, Pasco, Piura, Puno, San Martín, Tumbes y Ucayali.

Ellos acudirán a 19 centros de estudios superiores (14 de ellos universidades y cinco institutos superiores), donde cursarán carreras como agronomía, biología, contabilidad, derecho, educación e ingeniería.

Durante la ceremonia, los becarios Gladys Lipa Villalba, de la región Puno, y Jefferson Castillo, de Ucayali, agradecieron el apoyo del Gobierno, a través del programa Juntos, y se comprometieron a culminar sus carreras y aplicar lo aprendido para impulsar el desarrollo de sus localidades.

Participaron de la actividad, los ministros de Desarrollo e Inclusión Social, Julio Demartini; y de Educación, Óscar Becerra, así como autoridades del programa Juntos, Pronabec y representantes del sector empresarial, quienes donaron tablets a los becarios.
