“La próxima semana vemos lo del defensor del pueblo, con certeza”, dijo en declaraciones a los periodistas.

El informe de la Comisión Especial encargada de la selección de candidatos aptos para la elección del Defensor del Pueblo del Congreso de la República propuso a los candidatos aptos para ocupar ese cargo, que son, en ese orden: Pedro Cartolín Pastor (quien comunicó su renuncia al proceso), Jorge Rioja Vallejos y Josué Gutiérrez Cóndor.

Según la Ley Orgánica del Defensor del Pueblo, para la elección de esa importante autoridad se requiere el voto favorable de la mayoría de los dos tercios del número legal de miembros del Congreso.

En otro momento, el titular del Parlamento expresó su preocupación por el brote de dengue en diferentes regiones del país. Dijo que se trata de un tema muy peligroso que lamentablemente está cobrando víctimas.

“Lo más importante que tenemos que hacer aquí es la prevención”, dijo Williams al tiempo invocar a los medios de comunicación a promover campañas educativas sobre la epidemia.

“Es una tarea de todos, los medios de comunicación tienen una labor valiosa para ello”, apuntó.

Williams Zapata también cuestionó que menores de edad sean usados para lanzar frases agraviantes contra autoridades del Estado, durante un desfile por el aniversario de un distrito puneño.

“Tomar a los niños para llevarlos a la política o a asuntos de carácter ideológico es grave. Al niño no se lo puede engañar diciéndole que diga algo. Debe ameritar una investigación porque no debemos crear esa costumbre”, opinó.

Recordó, sin hacer comparaciones, que en el Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (Vraem) utilizaban de esa forma a los menores de edad.

Respecto a la información de que la exprimera dama de la nación, Eliane Karp, estaría viajando a Israel, Williams Zapata dijo confiar en que el Poder Judicial y el Ministerio Público del Perú tomen alguna acción sobre el tema.

He recalled, without making comparisons, that in the Valley of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro (Vraem) Rivers they used minors in this way.

Regarding the information that the former first lady of the nation, Eliane Karp, would be traveling to Israel, Williams Zapata said he trusted that the Judiciary and the Public Ministry of Peru take some action on the subject.
