“La firma de la adenda del proyecto Chavimochic refleja el compromiso de las autoridades y sociedad civil con esta obra emblemática que va a convertirse en una realidad. Estos son hechos y no palabras”, indicó el jefe del Gabinete Ministerial.

El convenio fue firmado por la ministra de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego, Nelly Paredes del Castillo, y el gobernador regional de La Libertad, César Acuña Peralta. La ceremonia contó con la asistencia de los congresistas Nilza Chacón Trujillo, Víctor Flores Ruíz y Enrique Alva Rojas; los alcaldes provinciales de Ascope, María del Rosario Cortijo, y de Virú, Santos Mendoza Torres, y las autoridades distritales de Chicama, Edilberto Bada Castillo, y de Moche, Robert Chávez Olivos.

En otro momento, el titular de la Presidencia del Consejo de Ministros (PCM) sostuvo que Chavimochic también será aprovechado para el desarrollo de proyectos hidroeléctricos en beneficio de La Libertad y para dotar de agua potable a Trujillo.

“Hoy estamos ante una realidad. Acabamos de suscribir el firme compromiso del Gobierno de la presidenta Boluarte con el desarrollo y el progreso de La Libertad”, añadió.

Por su parte, la ministra Paredes recordó que al inicio de su gestión la mandataria le comunicó la importancia de impulsar el proyecto, la cual fue reafirmada en el discurso de investidura del premier Otárola.

“Hoy marcamos el segundo hito, porque el primero lo hicimos en mayo, cuando decidimos que culminar la presa Palo Redondo se haría a través de la modalidad de Gobierno a Gobierno”, informó.

En tanto, el gobernador regional César Acuña destacó los beneficios del trabajo articulado con el Gobierno nacional. “Hoy es un día histórico. El sueño hecho realidad del proyecto Chavimochic, de tener alrededor de 150 mil hectáreas irrigadas, el sueño de los liberteños de tener trabajo”, declaró.

BENEFICIO PARA AGRICULTORES
Con la ejecución de la tercera fase de esta emblemática iniciativa, se incorporarán 63 000 nuevas hectáreas de tierras y se mejorarán las condiciones de riego de otras 48 000 hectáreas.

De esta manera, se beneficiará a 32 375 familias de agricultores y se generarán más de 150 mil nuevos puestos de trabajo.

Del mismo modo, los trabajos permitirán suministrar de agua potable a la población de Trujillo, además de atender las demandas de recurso hídrico para riego de 144 385 hectáreas de los valles del Chao, Virú, Moche y Chicama.

Meanwhile, the regional governor César Acuña highlighted the benefits of joint work with the national government. “Today is a historic day. The dream come true of the Chavimochic project, of having around 150,000 irrigated hectares, the dream of Liberteños of having a job”, he declared.

BENEFIT FOR FARMERS
With the execution of the third phase of this emblematic initiative, 63,000 new hectares of land will be incorporated and the irrigation conditions of another 48,000 hectares will be improved.

In this way, 32,375 farming families will benefit and more than 150,000 new jobs will be generated.

In the same way, the works will make it possible to supply drinking water to the population of Trujillo, in addition to meeting the demands of water resources for irrigation of 144,385 hectares of the Chao, Virú, Moche and Chicama valleys.
