Fue en la Sala Héroes de la Democracia durante un pronunciamiento emitido en compañía de los integrantes de la Mesa Directiva del Periodo Anual de Sesiones 2023-2024.
“El reto comienza hoy. Nos reuniremos inmediatamente con las bancadas que hemos concertado para trabajar en una agenda conjunta urgente que nos permita revertir la imagen del Parlamento la cual se encuentra deteriorada”, anunció Soto.
Además, señaló que ha exigido respeto entre los miembros que conforman la Representación Nacional para luego pedir el respeto del pueblo.
Asimismo, dejó en claro que la Mesa Directiva no decide los destinos del Congreso de la República.
“Cada congresista tiene la posibilidad de plantear iniciativas legislativas que son derivadas a las comisiones correspondientes, donde se debaten y luego va al Pleno para su respectiva aprobación. A nosotros nos corresponde dirigir ese trabajo que está reglamentado en el marco constitucional y estatutos”, señaló.
Finalmente, anunció que próximamente la Mesa Directiva brindará una conferencia de prensa para anunciar los cinco o diez puntos prioritarios de la agenda que pondrán a consideración del pueblo peruano.
