En ese sentido, el titular del TC dijo que sí procede la liberación del ex mandatario y, por lo tanto, lo que corresponde es que las autoridades del Instituto Nacional Penitenciario (INPE) procedan con la excarcelación.

Morales Saravia rechazó una especie de distractivo por la coyuntura política en el auto emitido por el Colegiado.

«La aclaración tiene fecha 21 de noviembre, ese día debatimos y lo votamos, lo que pasa es que obviamente las votaciones son reservadas, luego de esto es que ha venido todo este problema que estamos enfrentando, toda esta situación terrible y dramática, pero nosotros debemos seguir nuestro procedimiento. Nosotros no podemos decir porque hay algo o una situación no podemos publicar. Ese ha sido el temperamento de todos y todos los magistrados, los seis, hemos firmado», aclaró durante la entrevista concedida a RPP.

Finalmente, dijo que las decisiones de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos y su jurisprudencia, es valorada, pero en este caso no se han pronunciado sobre ese punto y en todo caso puede haber un debate sobre el alcance o no de esa decisión.
