“En la víspera, he remitido una comunicación al presidente de la Organización Deportiva Panamericana expresando el respaldo y el aval del Gobierno peruano para postular oficialmente a Lima como sede de los Juegos Panamericanos 2027”, manifestó la mandataria desde la Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima.

Precisó que, en dicha comunicación, se comprometió a garantizar el financiamiento de todos los costos relacionados al proyecto de los Juegos Panamericanos y respetar el estatuto de Panam Sports y los demás acuerdos.

“Contamos con una infraestructura deportiva de primer nivel; tenemos experiencia y, sobre todo, la firme voluntad del Gobierno y de las instituciones para colocar, una vez más, a Lima y a nuestro país en la vitrina mundial”, remarcó.

Seguidamente, la Jefa de Estado resaltó la promulgación de la Ley N.° 31980, la misma que crea el Régimen Especial para el Centro Histórico de Lima, a fin de proteger el patrimonio cultural de la capital y fomentar su desarrollo integral y sostenible.

“Queremos incentivar la protección, conservación, restauración, revitalización y promoción de la inversión en el Centro Histórico de Lima, reconociendo su condición como Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación y Patrimonio Mundial de la Unesco”, anotó.

Asimismo, recordó que en diciembre último se aprobó la constitución de un fideicomiso de titulización para el financiamiento de proyectos de infraestructura de transporte y de la movilidad urbana en Lima y Callao.

“Mi gobierno trabaja arduamente para cerrar las brechas de infraestructura de transporte en Lima y en todo el país”, afirmó.

En ese sentido, destacó los proyectos que se vienen impulsando en Lima, como la Línea 2 del Metro y el Anillo Vial Periférico, que unirá 11 distritos de la capital.

“Vengo con un mensaje y una decisión firme y clara, y es trabajar de la mano de las autoridades para impulsar el desarrollo integral y sostenible de nuestra querida Lima, para mejorar la infraestructura y los servicios a los ciudadanos”, aseveró.

Finalmente, la mandataria señaló que el Gobierno trabaja con mayor eficacia y rigor para combatir la delincuencia y el crimen organizado. En esa línea, afirmó que para lograr ello ahora se cuenta con nuevos instrumentos legales y una Policía más fortalecida.

“Juntos podemos sacar adelante a la ciudad de Lima y construir el Perú que todos queremos: trabajemos juntos, unidos en la diversidad, para construir una capital más próspera, segura y equitativa para las generaciones presentes y futuras”, enfatizó.

He specified that, in said communication, he committed to guarantee the financing of all costs related to the Pan American Games project and to respect the statute of Panam Sports and the other agreements.

“We have a first-class sports infrastructure; We have experience and, above all, the firm will of the Government and the institutions to place, once again, Lima and our country in the global showcase,” he noted.

Next, the Head of State highlighted the promulgation of Law No. 31980, which creates the Special Regime for the Historic Center of Lima, in order to protect the cultural heritage of the capital and promote its comprehensive and sustainable development.

“We want to encourage the protection, conservation, restoration, revitalization and promotion of investment in the Historic Center of Lima, recognizing its status as Cultural Heritage of the Nation and UNESCO World Heritage,” he noted.

Likewise, he recalled that last December the constitution of a securitization trust was approved for the financing of transportation and urban mobility infrastructure projects in Lima and Callao.

“My government is working hard to close the transportation infrastructure gaps in Lima and throughout the country,” he stated.

In that sense, he highlighted the projects that are being promoted in Lima, such as Metro Line 2 and the Peripheral Road Ring, which will link 11 districts of the capital.

“I come with a message and a firm and clear decision, and that is to work hand in hand with the authorities to promote the comprehensive and sustainable development of our beloved Lima, to improve infrastructure and services to citizens,” he stated.

Finally, the president pointed out that the Government works with greater effectiveness and rigor to combat delinquency and organized crime. Along these lines, he stated that to achieve this there are now new legal instruments and a more strengthened Police.

“Together we can move the city of Lima forward and build the Peru that we all want: let’s work together, united in diversity, to build a more prosperous, safe and equitable capital for present and future generations,” he emphasized.
