“Mi Gobierno está comprometido con Ica y con todo el Perú. La inauguración del nuevo Puente Chamorro es muestra de nuestros esfuerzos por unir al país y cerrar brechas históricas”, manifestó.

El nuevo Puente Chamorro tiene una longitud de 160 metros y se reconstruyó debido a que el fenómeno de El Niño Costero de 2017 dañó las bases de dicha estructura, de 45 años de antigüedad.

Al respecto, la jefa de Estado destacó que este moderno puente está diseñado para resistir los embates de futuros fenómenos de El Niño y forma parte de la nueva reconstrucción con cambios que viene aplicando su gestión, a fin que los desastres naturales no afecten a la población.

“Somos un Gobierno de hechos y no de palabras. Ante la adversidad, no nos quedamos de brazos cruzados. Por eso, nuestras ministras y ministros vienen trabajando a lo largo y ancho del país en tareas de prevención”, remarcó.

Seguidamente, la mandataria subrayó que la puesta en operación de importantes obras de infraestructura contribuye a mejorar la economía de las peruanas y peruanos, lo que constituye una de las prioridades de su Gobierno.

“Con el nuevo Puente Chamorro, los agricultores de la región podrán cruzar con seguridad esta zona y vender sus preciados productos, como el maíz, la sandía, el algodón, entre otros. Además, la obra beneficiará la actividad turística en el distrito de El Carmen y en toda la provincia de Chincha”, resaltó.

La presidenta aprovechó su visita para recordar que en los próximos meses se iniciará la construcción del mayor proyecto de seguridad ciudadana de Ica: una moderna central de operaciones de 1,200 metros cuadrados, que contará con equipamiento, tecnología y capacidad logística.

Precisó que la inversión en esta obra será de aproximadamente 67 millones de soles y beneficiará a más de 400,000 iqueños. Informó que se ejecutará bajo la modalidad de Obras por Impuestos y se espera que esté culminada en el 2025.

“Otra de las prioridades que mi gobierno se ha planteado para este año es la lucha contra la inseguridad ciudadana y la criminalidad organizada. Este objetivo tiene el compromiso y la participación de las autoridades locales y regionales”, concluyó.

Next, the president stressed that the implementation of important infrastructure works contributes to improving the economy of Peruvians, which is one of the priorities of her Government.

“With the new Chamorro Bridge, farmers in the region will be able to safely cross this area and sell their precious products, such as corn, watermelon, cotton, among others. In addition, the work will benefit tourism activity in the district of El Carmen and throughout the province of Chincha,” he highlighted.

The president took advantage of her visit to remember that in the coming months the construction of the largest citizen security project in Ica will begin: a modern operations center of 1,200 square meters, which will have equipment, technology and logistical capacity.

He specified that the investment in this work will be approximately 67 million soles and will benefit more than 400,000 Iqueños. He reported that it will be executed under the Works for Taxes modality and is expected to be completed in 2025.

“Another of the priorities that my government has set for this year is the fight against citizen insecurity and organized crime. This objective has the commitment and participation of local and regional authorities,” he concluded.
