El fallo del 27 de enero significó la solución a una controversia entre los dos países en el marco del derecho internacional, y le permitió al Perú la incorporación de 50 000 kilómetros al mar peruano, junto con los recursos vivos y no vivos allí existentes, lo cual benefició a la población del sur del país.

“La delimitación marítima entre Perú y Chile ha impulsado el desarrollo de la actividad pesquera, la exploración de recursos naturales y la promoción de inversiones en la región”, afirmó la presidenta Boluarte.

La mandataria resaltó que también se fortaleció la confianza mutua y se abrieron nuevas oportunidades de cooperación y colaboración en temas de seguridad y defensa con Chile. “Recordemos que, cuando tenemos un rumbo claro y estamos unidos como nación, somos capaces de superar cualquier desafío que se presente en nuestro camino”, enfatizó.

La mandataria destacó que en los tiempos actuales, de conflictos internacionales y guerras que distancian a los países, Perú y Chile son un ejemplo claro y firme de que las controversias se pueden solucionar por la vía pacífica. “Tras el fallo, ambos países acatamos de manera inmediata lo dictaminado, cumpliendo con las obligaciones internacionales derivadas de dicha decisión”, dijo.

En el Perú, el 27 de enero de cada año ha sido declarado como el Día de la Soberanía Marítima de nuestro país. “Debemos aprovechar esta oportunidad para construir y consolidar un futuro de unidad y de paz, porque es paz lo que demandan los pueblos, la paz que trae bienestar, progreso y desarrollo para todas y todos.”, destacó.
