La ceremonia de entrega se llevó a cabo el viernes 26 de enero, en horas de la mañana, en las oficinas regionales de la Iglesia de Jesucristo en la Molina.

Acudieron al acto de entrega Leslie Pierce, presidente del directorio del Banco de Alimentos Perú, Salomón Lerner, miembro del directorio; Daniela Osores, gerente general del Banco de Alimentos Perú y otros funcionarios de la institución. Asimismo, por parte de la Iglesia de Jesucristo, estuvieron el Élder Jorge F. Zeballos, presidente del Área Sudamérica Noroeste y César Hooker, gerente de Bienestar y Autosuficiencia del Área.

La donación servirá para dar soporte al proceso de rescate de alimentos y para adquirir productos con valor nutricional (legumbres, cereales y víveres) que complementarán las raciones diarias de alimentos a favor de la población. Con esta donación, se posibilitará la entrega de 600,000 raciones de alimentos, se llevarán a cabo capacitaciones técnicas y se cubrirá el costo de los equipos necesarios para la operación.

Durante el año, 7,200 personas tendrán acceso a alimentos variados, se atenderán 80 ollas comunes y 40 comedores populares que agrupan diferentes tipos de población como son personas mayores, mujeres, niños, adolescentes, embarazadas o en periodo de lactancia.

Los esfuerzos de ayuda social de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días responden directamente a su doctrina centrada en las enseñanzas de Jesucristo.
