En declaraciones a la Agencia Andina, el ministro Renato Reyes Tagle, alto funcionario del Perú ante APEC del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, remarca que se trata de una propuesta «netamente peruana» que implica generar espacios para acercar el foro a la sociedad civil.
En ese marco, indicó, se han desarrollado reuniones con la Municipalidad de Lima, el Ministerio de Trabajo, universidades, gremios empresariales, autoridades locales y regionales, entre otros.
«Está teniendo un nivel impresionante de aceptación. Estamos a punto de iniciar, por ejemplo, un APEC Ciudadano Recicla para reciclar desperdicios que hay en las playas costeras de Lima con la participación de niños», indicó.
Detalló que el proyecto abarcará desde Chorrillos hasta La Punta, aunque no descartó que luego pueda extenderse a las playas del norte.
Mencionó que también existe un proyecto presentado por el Ministerio de Educación sobre los desafíos que presenta la inteligencia artificial a la educación.
«Entonces vamos a tener expertos del mundo hablando sobre este tema (…) todo esto es parte de las prioridades y también de acercar el Foro APEC a la sociedad civil peruana», remarcó.
De igual manera, indicó que en un trabajo conjunto con la empresa Samsung se llevará a varias regiones del país un programa, que la compañía ya implementa hace años, para promover las ciencias en estudiantes de tercero a quinto de secundaria.
«Ahora queremos llevarlo (el programa) a varias, regiones, ampliarlo bajo el auspicio del APEC Ciudadano», destacó.

In this framework, he indicated, meetings have been held with the Municipality of Lima, the Ministry of Labor, universities, business associations, local and regional authorities, among others.
«It is having an impressive level of acceptance. “We are about to start, for example, an APEC Ciudadano Recicla to recycle waste on the coastal beaches of Lima with the participation of children,” he indicated.
He explained that the project will cover from Chorrillos to La Punta, although he did not rule out that it could later be extended to the northern beaches.
He mentioned that there is also a project presented by the Ministry of Education on the challenges that artificial intelligence presents to education.
“So we are going to have experts from around the world speaking on this topic (…) all of this is part of the priorities and also bringing the APEC Forum closer to Peruvian civil society,” he remarked.
Likewise, he indicated that in joint work with the Samsung company, a program, which the company has already implemented for years, will be carried out to several regions of the country to promote science in students from third to fifth grade of secondary school.
“Now we want to take it (the program) to several regions, expand it under the auspices of APEC Ciudadano,” he highlighted.
