El ejecutivo reemplazará a Masahiro Inoue y estará a cargo de liderar una región que abarca un total de 40 países.

En su nuevo rol, el ejecutivo peruano supervisará estratégicamente todas las iniciativas y operaciones de Toyota en América Latina y el Caribe, trabajando en estrecha colaboración con los equipos regionales para impulsar el crecimiento sostenible y fortalecer la presencia de la marca en el mercado. Siempre bajo el enfoque de poner al cliente primero.

SOBRE SU TRAYECTORIA PROFESIONAL
Con una destacada carrera de 30 años en Toyota, Rafael Chang es Ingeniero Industrial por la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). El ejecutivo ha desempeñado en diversos países roles cruciales en la compañía, entre los que destacan Perú, Japón, Venezuela y Brasil. Inició su carrera en Toyota del Perú en 1993, en el departamento de Ventas. En 2005, fue promovido a Director Ejecutivo de Toyota del Perú. Durante ese periodo también fue presidente de la Asociación de Representantes Automotrices del Perú (ARAPER).

En 2011, Rafael asumió la Gerencia General del departamento de Ventas y Marketing de la división América Latina y Caribe de Toyota Motor Corporation, en Japón. En 2015, regresó como vicepresidente Ejecutivo de Producción de Toyota Venezuela y, después de un año, se volvió presidente de la operación venezolana. En el 2017, asumió el cargo de presidente de Toyota do Brasil. Actualmente ocupa la presidencia de dos países, Brasil y Venezuela.

Su visión de la movilidad lo ha llevado a trabajar arduamente para impulsar la masificación de los vehículos electrificados, en línea con el objetivo global de Toyota de alcanzar la carbono neutralidad al 2050.

ABOUT HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREER
With an outstanding 30-year career at Toyota, Rafael Chang is an Industrial Engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). The executive has played crucial roles in the company in various countries, including Peru, Japan, Venezuela and Brazil. He began his career at Toyota del Perú in 1993, in the Sales department. In 2005, he was promoted to Executive Director of Toyota del Perú. During that period he was also president of the Association of Automotive Representatives of Peru (ARAPER).

In 2011, Rafael assumed the General Management of the Sales and Marketing department of the Latin America and Caribbean division of Toyota Motor Corporation, in Japan. In 2015, he returned as Executive Vice President of Production for Toyota Venezuela and, after a year, became president of the Venezuelan operation. In 2017, he assumed the position of president of Toyota do Brasil. He currently holds the presidency of two countries, Brazil and Venezuela.
