La jefa de Estado precisó que más de seis millones de niños retornaron a clases y destacó el despliegue hecho por los ministros y viceministros a nivel nacional para supervisar el inicio del Año Escolar 2024, de la mano de las autoridades regionales y locales.
“Estamos comprometidos con los estudiantes, con los maestros, con los padres de familia y con la sociedad. Juntos estamos colocando cimientos sólidos para una sociedad más inclusiva, con justicia y desarrollo, en el que todas y todos podamos progresar”, remarcó.
En la jornada inaugural, la jefa de Estado afirmó que este año se entregarán 78 nuevas infraestructuras educativas. De ellas, 31 son escuelas bicentenario, 20 son ejecutadas por el Programa Nacional de Infraestructura Educativa (PRONIED) y 27 son construidas por la Autoridad Nacional de Infraestructura (ANIN).
Precisó que las escuelas a entregar se encuentran en Lima Metropolitana, Cajamarca, Ica, Áncash, La Libertad, Piura, Puno, Moquegua, Tacna y en Apurímac. “En 2025 seguiremos entregando más instituciones. Si antes había olvido, hoy hay trabajo y apuesta por la educación”, subrayó.
La jefa de Estado destacó que, por primera vez, los niños de tres, cuatro y cinco años tendrán espacios de inglés todos los días, al iniciar sus clases escolares.
“Somos conscientes de que el inglés es el idioma universal, por lo que nuestros niños estarán capacitados para responder a las condiciones que el mundo exige”, manifestó.
Saludó que desde el Ministerio de Educación se haya trabajado arduamente para que catorce millones de textos y material educativo fueran entregados a las unidades de gestión educativa local (UGEL) de los gobiernos regionales antes del inicio de clases.
En otro momento, la mandataria resaltó que, a fin de garantizar el buen inicio del año escolar y la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y maestros, la Policía Nacional puso en marcha el plan escolar 2024, para resguardar más de 37 000 instituciones educativas, entre públicas y privadas.
Indicó que, en paralelo, el programa Qali Warma proyecta atender con servicio alimentario escolar a más de cuatro millones niñas y niños de 65 542 instituciones educativas públicas del país.
Finalmente, la presidenta dio a conocer que entre el 18 y 22 de marzo se realizará la jornada de actualización de vacunas en todas las instituciones educativas públicas y privadas.
“Se aplicará, por ejemplo, la vacuna PDT, que protege contra la difteria, la tos ferina y el tétano, y la vacuna contra el virus del papiloma humano, para así proteger a nuestras alumnas del cáncer de cuello uterino”, puntualizó.

He welcomed that the Ministry of Education had worked hard so that fourteen million texts and educational materials were delivered to the local educational management units (UGEL) of the regional governments before the start of classes.
At another time, the president highlighted that, in order to guarantee the good start of the school year and the safety of our students and teachers, the National Police launched the 2024 school plan, to protect more than 37,000 educational institutions, including public and private.
He indicated that, in parallel, the Qali Warma program plans to serve more than four million girls and boys from 65,542 public educational institutions in the country with school food services.
Finally, the president announced that between March 18 and 22, the vaccine update day will be held in all public and private educational institutions.
“For example, the PDT vaccine will be applied, which protects against diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus, and the vaccine against the human papillomavirus, in order to protect our students from cervical cancer,” he pointed out.
