El Gobierno de la presidenta Dina Boluarte suscribió el contrato de Estado a Estado con Canadá para el servicio de asistencia técnica de este importante proyecto, el que estuvo paralizado por cerca de ocho años.

En la ceremonia de la firma del acuerdo, realizada en Palacio de Gobierno, la jefa de Estado destacó que el proyecto complementará una inversión total de 750 millones de dólares.

“Cuando asumimos el Gobierno, lo hicimos por el inmenso amor a la patria y el firme compromiso de impulsar su desarrollo. Y, en ese objetivo, iniciamos la tarea impostergable de destrabar proyectos que, por años, estuvieron olvidados por desidia o corrupción”, manifestó.

En ese sentido, precisó que el contrato suscrito permitirá la culminación de la presa Palo Redondo, la construcción de la tercera línea del sifón Virú y la automatización de toda la infraestructura hidráulica, con lo que se mejorará la irrigación de 48 000 hectáreas de cultivos y se incorporarán 63 000 hectáreas de tierras agrícolas.

Una vez culminado, el proyecto generará 150 000 empleos y permitirá potenciar las agroexportaciones del país, a través de mayores envíos de arándanos, uvas, paltas, espárragos, plátanos y mangos.

“Con la suscripción de este contrato, el Gobierno demuestra su compromiso con el agro nacional y con la alimentación mundial, pues sin agua no podemos hablar de seguridad alimentaria”, remarcó.

En otro momento, la mandataria previó que para julio del 2026 se tendrá en ejecución grandes proyectos de irrigación, entre los que destacan Chavimochic III (La Libertad), Chinecas (Áncash), Majes Siguas (Arequipa), Alto Piura (Piura), Yanapuquio (Arequipa) y Las Delicias (Lambayeque).

“Todos estos proyectos suman una inversión conjunta de 3000 millones de dólares, que permitirán asegurar agua para 200 000 hectáreas de cultivos”, subrayó.

Asimismo, aseveró que el foco de atención de su Gobierno sigue firme en atender las necesidades en todo el territorio nacional. Por ello, este año se invertirán más de 200 millones de soles para construir más de 1000 qochas, en beneficio de 24 000 familias de las zonas altoandinas.

“Tenemos que seguir impulsando la construcción de qochas a nivel nacional. El agua es vida y si nosotros queremos darle calidad de vida a los peruanos, empecemos dándole agua”, sostuvo.

Minutos más tarde, la jefa de Estado anunció que este año se iniciará un programa para impulsar la calidad de la leche, el que será incluido el próximo año en la cartera de proyectos del Fondo Internacional de Desarrollo Agrícola (FIDA) y demandará una inversión de 60 millones de dólares.

“Esta iniciativa se desarrollará en las principales cuencas lecheras del país, a fin de que nuestros pequeños ganaderos puedan acceder a mejores precios de venta, priorizando la sanidad, así como la infraestructura de ordeño y enfriamiento”, señaló.

Finalmente, afirmó que su Gobierno seguirá atendiendo la agricultura del sur y gestionará la industrialización de los granos andinos.

“Somos conscientes de que el productor necesita un impulso de parte del Estado; por eso, durante este año se financiarán más de 800 planes de negocios, valorizados en 74 millones de soles, los que beneficiarán a más de 26 000 productores en diversas cadenas productivas, en especial del café, leche y cuyes”, concluyó.

At another time, the president predicted that by July 2026, large irrigation projects will be implemented, among which Chavimochic III (La Libertad), Chinecas (Áncash), Majes Siguas (Arequipa), Alto Piura (Piura), Yanapuquio stand out. (Arequipa) and Las Delicias (Lambayeque).

“All these projects add up to a joint investment of 3 billion dollars, which will ensure water for 200,000 hectares of crops,” he stressed.

Likewise, he asserted that his Government’s focus remains firm on addressing the needs throughout the national territory. For this reason, this year more than 200 million soles will be invested to build more than 1,000 qochas, for the benefit of 24,000 families in the high Andean areas.

“We have to continue promoting the construction of qochas at the national level. Water is life and if we want to give quality of life to Peruvians, let’s start by giving them water,” he said.

Minutes later, the head of state announced that this year a program will begin to boost the quality of milk, which will be included next year in the project portfolio of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and will require an investment of 60 million dollars.

“This initiative will be developed in the main dairy basins of the country, so that our small farmers can access better sales prices, prioritizing health, as well as milking and cooling infrastructure,” he said.

Finally, he stated that his Government will continue to attend to southern agriculture and will manage the industrialization of Andean grains.

“We are aware that the producer needs a boost from the State; For this reason, during this year more than 800 business plans will be financed, valued at 74 million soles, which will benefit more than 26,000 producers in various production chains, especially coffee, milk and guinea pigs,” he concluded.
