Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe En evento previo a la inauguración de la 61° Conferencia de Seguridad de Múnich, el canciller Elmer Schialer Salcedo informó las acciones que está ejecutando el Perú contra el crimen organizado trasnacional, una de las principales políticas del Gobierno, como la promoción de mecanismos de coordinación de inteligencia y la consolidación de iniciativas de integración.

En su participación como panelista de la mesa redonda “Compromiso regional para un mundo en desorden: mapeo de las perspectivas latinoamericanas en seguridad internacional”, el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores mencionó que el Perú reconoce la importancia de la cooperación con los Estados Unidos y Europa en la lucha contra organizaciones criminales. Señaló asimismo los esfuerzos regionales que hacen nuestros países en el marco de la Comunidad Andina (CAN) y del Tratado de Cooperación Amazónica (OTCA) para combatir el crimen organizado transnacional.

Por otro lado, el canciller resaltó la importancia que los Estados se alineen con sus compromisos internacionales, en particular el respeto irrestricto al derecho internacional, la promoción de la democracia y el respeto y promoción de los derechos fundamentales. En esa línea, subrayó que, en su rol de vicepresidente del Grupo de Seguimiento Voluntario de la Carta Democrática Interamericana, el Perú promueve iniciativas para fortalecer las instituciones democráticas y prevenir retrocesos autoritarios.

Este evento paralelo fue organizado por el centro de pensamiento colombiano Fedesarrollo y Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). También participaron el ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de Costa Rica, Arnoldo André Tinoco, entre otras autoridades.

REUNIONES BILATERALES
Durante la reunión del canciller Schialer con la directora general de la Organización Internacional de la Migración (OIM), Amy Pope, a quien invitó a visitar el Perú próximamente, dialogaron sobre el retorno de migrantes en situación irregular y le expresó el interés peruano de actualizar los mecanismos de cooperación. Asimismo, el ministro resaltó el papel que el Perú está desempeñando como Vicepresidencia del Consejo de la OIM y reafirmó que se continuará apoyando las iniciativas cuando nuestro país asuma la presidencia en noviembre del 2025.

Por otro lado, el canciller Schialer y el secretario de Relaciones Exteriores de Filipinas, Enrique Manalo, resaltaron el excelente estado de las relaciones bilaterales; se mencionó que el Gobierno peruano reabrirá una embajada residente en el país asiático, una vez concluidas las gestiones administrativas para dicho propósito; y, se reiteró el aprecio a Filipinas por su apoyo en la decisión de la Asociación de Naciones del Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN) de otorgar al Perú el estatus “Socio de Desarrollo”.

Finalmente, en su reunión con el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Dinamarca, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, el canciller Schialer confirmó la decisión del Perú de reabrir una embajada residente en Copenhague; transmitió el interés de nuestro país en establecer un mecanismo de consultas bilaterales, así como intensificar la coordinación y cooperación en lucha contra el tráfico ilícito de drogas y establecer una estrecha cooperación en el ámbito de la tech diplomacy, en la que Dinamarca es líder mundial.

In his participation as a panelist at the round table “Regional commitment for a world in disorder: mapping Latin American perspectives on international security,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that Peru recognizes the importance of cooperation with the United States and Europe in the fight against criminal organizations. He also pointed out the regional efforts that our countries make within the framework of the Andean Community (CAN) and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (ACTO) to combat transnational organized crime.

On the other hand, the chancellor highlighted the importance of States aligning with their international commitments, in particular unrestricted respect for international law, the promotion of democracy and the respect and promotion of fundamental rights. Along these lines, he stressed that, in his role as vice president of the Voluntary Monitoring Group of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, Peru promotes initiatives to strengthen democratic institutions and prevent authoritarian setbacks.

BILATERAL MEETINGS
During Chancellor Schialer’s meeting with the director general of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Amy Pope, whom he invited to visit Peru soon, they discussed the return of migrants in an irregular situation and expressed Peru’s interest in updating cooperation mechanisms. Likewise, the minister highlighted the role that Peru is playing as Vice Presidency of the IOM Council and reaffirmed that the initiatives will continue to be supported when our country assumes the presidency in November 2025.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Schialer and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Enrique Manalo, highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations; It was mentioned that the Peruvian Government will reopen a resident embassy in the Asian country, once the administrative procedures for this purpose have been completed; and, appreciation was reiterated to the Philippines for its support in the decision of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to grant Peru “Development Partner” status.

Finally, in his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Chancellor Schialer confirmed Peru’s decision to reopen an embassy resident in Copenhagen; He conveyed our country’s interest in establishing a mechanism for bilateral consultations, as well as intensifying coordination and cooperation in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and establishing close cooperation in the field of tech diplomacy, in which Denmark is a world leader.
