Estas acciones forman parte de un proyecto de mejoramiento y ampliación de infraestructura de defensa, cuya ejecución es gestionada por la Autoridad Nacional de Infraestructura (ANIN) y beneficiará a más de 94 000 habitantes de las provincias de Ascope, Gran Chimú y Contumazá.

El proyecto contempla la construcción de 64 kilómetros de estructuras de protección, entre diques, entroncados y encauzamiento. Durante la inspección realizada por un equipo técnico de la SGRD, se verificó los avances en dichas obras, así como en la descolmatación del cauce del río y otras acciones destinadas a fortalecer la protección en la zona.

PUNTOS ESTRATÉGICOS
Durante la supervisión, en la que también participaron equipos técnicos de la ANIN y la Autoridad Nacional del Agua (ANA), se visitaron tres puntos estratégicos. El primero, ubicado en la zona de Ascope, presenta obras de encauzamiento del río y construcción de diques de protección.

Luego, se visitó el campamento de la empresa encargada de la ejecución del proyecto, donde se constató la presencia de maquinaria, almacenes, ambientes adecuados para el personal y un área específica para el almacenamiento de productos peligrosos.

Finalmente, se supervisó la cantera de extracción de roca en la zona Alto Perú, donde se obtienen los insumos utilizados en las defensas ribereñas. En este punto, se revisó la calidad del material y su impacto en la estabilidad de las estructuras hidráulicas.

Con estas inspecciones, el Ejecutivo contribuye a la gestión del riesgo de desastres en la región La Libertad y a la protección de comunidades y territorios dedicados a la agricultura ante potenciales inundaciones.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe Continuing with prevention actions against heavy rains, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), through the Secretariat of Disaster Risk Management (SGRD), inspected the flood protection works being carried out on the banks of the Chicama River, in the La Libertad region.

These actions are part of a project to improve and expand defense infrastructure, the execution of which is managed by the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN) and will benefit more than 94,000 inhabitants of the provinces of Ascope, Gran Chimú and Contumazá.

The project includes the construction of 64 kilometers of protection structures, including dikes, trunking and channeling. During the inspection carried out by a technical team from the SGRD, the progress in said works was verified, as well as in the clearing of the river channel and other actions aimed at strengthening protection in the area.

STRATEGIC POINTS
During the supervision, in which technical teams from ANIN and the National Water Authority (ANA) also participated, three strategic points were visited. The first, located in the Ascope area, presents works to channel the river and construct protective dams.

Then, the camp of the company in charge of executing the project was visited, where the presence of machinery, warehouses, suitable environments for personnel and a specific area for the storage of dangerous products was confirmed.

Finally, the rock extraction quarry in the Alto Perú area was supervised, where the inputs used in the riverside defenses are obtained. At this point, the quality of the material and its impact on the stability of the hydraulic structures was reviewed.

With these inspections, the Executive contributes to disaster risk management in the La Libertad region and to the protection of communities and territories dedicated to agriculture against potential floods.
