La feria estará abierta al público desde hoy al medio día, hasta el 23 de marzo a las 9:00 p.m., en el Boulevard Carpaccio, aledaño al Centro Comercial La Rambla, en el distrito de San Borja.

Esta edición contará con la presencia de 23 artesanos que, entre 2011 y 2024, fueron condecorados con el “Premio Nacional Amautas de la Artesanía Peruana”, el “Premio Nacional Medalla Joaquín López Antay” y el “Premio Nacional a la Mujer Artesana”. Se trata de amautas (maestros artesanos) y reconocidos emprendedores de Lima, Cusco, Piura, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Lambayeque y Puno.

En la feria “Artesanías del Perú: Maestría y Tradición”, el público podrá encontrar finos trabajos de alfarería y cerámica, joyería y orfebrería, mates y huingos, talla, textilería, fibras vegetales, imaginería y pintura.

Como parte de las actividades y en el contexto de esta feria, el próximo 19 de marzo —fecha en la que se conmemora en varios países del mundo el “Día Internacional del Artesano”, y que particularmente en el Perú se celebra, según la ley, el “Día del Artesano Peruano”— se realizará la ceremonia de premiación del XII Premio Nacional de Diseño de la Artesanía peruana, importante concurso que busca reconocer la labor artística y cultural de los artesanos e incentiva la creatividad, calidad, diseño, rescate y preservación de las tradiciones peruanas.

Precisamente, en el marco de la mencionada feria se llevará a cabo la exhibición de los proyectos finalistas de este importante certamen. A esta XII edición se presentaron 80 postulantes provenientes de 13 regiones del país y el Premio se otorga a los ganadores de cada una de sus categorías: Diseño y desarrollo de Producto; Procesos productivos y Negocio innovador.

SOBRE LOS PREMIOS
El “Premio Nacional Amautas de la Artesanía Peruana” es la más importante distinción que entrega el Estado peruano, a través del Mincetur, a los artesanos, por su notable aporte en la conservación de la tradición artesanal y el patrimonio cultural, ya sea través de sus obras hechas a mano y/o la transmisión de sus conocimientos a las nuevas generaciones. A la fecha, un total de 40 amautas de nueve regiones han recibido este reconocimiento.

El “Premio Nacional Medalla Joaquín López Antay” es otra de las condecoraciones más importantes de la actividad artesanal, que se otorga a artesanos con una trayectoria no menor a 10 años, que contribuyeron de manera significativa a la conservación de las distintas líneas de la artesanía peruana, contempladas en el Clasificador Nacional de Líneas Artesanales (Clanar) del Mincetur.

Esta distinción lleva el nombre del reconocido retablista ayacuchano don Joaquín López Antay, quien recibió el Premio Nacional de Cultura en la categoría de Arte en el año 1975. Desde su creación, en el 2007, hasta hoy se ha otorgado esta distinción a 108 artesanos. Este Premio es entregado conjuntamente por el Mincetur y el Congreso de la República en la sede de este último.

El “Premio Nacional a la Mujer Artesana” reconoce a las artesanas peruanas por su rol e importancia en la actividad artesanal, su talento y creatividad, así como el rol que cumplen en el desarrollo de la sociedad. Un total de 12 mujeres han recibido esta condecoración desde su creación en el año 2021.

Es importante mencionar que, para postular a alguno de estos premios, los amautas y emprendedores deben estar inscritos en el Registro Nacional del Artesano (RNA) del Mincetur.

The fair will be open to the public from today at noon until March 23rd at 9:00 p.m. on Carpaccio Boulevard, adjacent to the La Rambla Shopping Center, in the district of San Borja.

This edition will feature 23 artisans who, between 2011 and 2024, were awarded the “National Amautas Award for Peruvian Crafts,” the “National Joaquín López Antay Medal Award,” and the “National Award for Women Artisans.” These are amautas (master artisans) and renowned entrepreneurs from Lima, Cusco, Piura, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Lambayeque, and Puno.

At the “Peruvian Crafts: Mastery and Tradition” fair, the public will be able to find fine pottery and ceramics, jewelry and goldsmithing, mates and huingos, carving, textiles, plant fibers, imagery, and painting.

As part of the activities and in the context of this fair, the awards ceremony for the 12th National Peruvian Craftsman Design Award will be held on March 19th—the date on which “International Artisan Day” is commemorated in several countries around the world, and which, according to law, is celebrated in Peru in particular as “Peruvian Artisan Day.” This important competition seeks to recognize the artistic and cultural work of artisans and encourages creativity, quality, design, and the rescue and preservation of Peruvian traditions.

Specifically, the finalist projects of this important competition will be exhibited within the framework of the aforementioned fair. Eighty applicants from 13 regions of the country were presented to this 12th edition, and the award is given to the winners in each of the categories: Product Design and Development; Production Processes; and Innovative Business.

ABOUT THE AWARDS
The “Amautas National Award for Peruvian Crafts” is the highest distinction awarded by the Peruvian State, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MINCETUR), to artisans for their outstanding contributions to the preservation of artisanal traditions and cultural heritage, whether through their handmade works and/or the transmission of their knowledge to new generations. To date, a total of 40 amautas from nine regions have received this recognition.

The “Joaquín López Antay National Medal Award” is another of the most important awards in the artisanal industry, given to artisans with a career spanning at least 10 years and who have significantly contributed to the preservation of the various lines of Peruvian craftsmanship, as listed in the National Classifier of Artisanal Lines (Clanar) of the Ministry of Culture (MINCETUR).

This distinction is named after the renowned Ayacucho altarpiece maker, Joaquín López Antay, who received the National Culture Award in the Art category in 1975. Since its creation in 2007, this distinction has been awarded to 108 artisans. This award is presented jointly by the Ministry of Culture (MINCETUR) and the Congress of the Republic at the latter’s headquarters.

The “National Award for Women Artisans” recognizes Peruvian artisans for their role and importance in the artisanal industry, their talent and creativity, as well as the role they play in the development of society. A total of 12 women have received this award since its creation in 2021.

It is important to mention that, to apply for any of these awards, artisans and entrepreneurs must be registered in the National Registry of Artisans (RNA) of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MINCETUR).
