En este importante foro regional, donde se aprobó la Declaración de Ecuador: “Aprovechar el Poder del Turismo Patrimonial para el Desarrollo de las Américas”, el Perú, representado por la viceministra de Turismo, Madeleine Burns, y el director general de Políticas de Desarrollo Turístico, Bratzo Bartra, participó activamente en las discusiones clave sobre sostenibilidad, inclusión y recuperación del turismo en la región.

La Declaración de Ecuador y su correspondiente Plan de Acción al 2030 promueven la inversión en infraestructura turística, el fortalecimiento del turismo patrimonial y la cooperación entre los países de la región. En este marco, se establecieron tres grupos de trabajo, destacando entre ellos el Grupo 3, enfocado en fortalecer la conectividad y promover los viajes multidestino en las Américas.

El Perú fue elegido como vicepresidente de este grupo, lo que le permitirá contribuir activamente en el diseño e impulso de iniciativas orientadas a mejorar la infraestructura turística, fomentar la conectividad y generar alianzas estratégicas que promuevan circuitos turísticos integrados entre países vecinos. Estas acciones tienen como objetivo generar un impacto positivo en las comunidades locales y diversificar la oferta turística en el continente.

La viceministra Madeleine Burns participó también como panelista en la Cuarta Sesión Plenaria, titulada “Promover el turismo en las comunidades indígenas mediante la celebración y preservación del patrimonio cultural”. Durante su intervención, destacó el modelo de Turismo Comunitario en Perú, subrayando su importancia en el desarrollo sostenible y el fortalecimiento de las comunidades locales.

También enfatizó que el Turismo Comunitario en Perú se integra armoniosamente a las actividades económicas tradicionales, utilizando el patrimonio cultural y el entorno natural, lo cual diferencia el producto turístico peruano. Este enfoque refuerza el liderazgo de Perú en la región, posicionándolo como un modelo a seguir en la promoción de un turismo que respete y valore las tradiciones, costumbres y recursos naturales de los pueblos originarios.

Es importante mencionar que la labor que desarrollará Perú en el marco de la vicepresidencia del Grupo de Trabajo 3 será fundamental para articular esfuerzos con otros Estados Miembros, compartir experiencias exitosas y consolidar al país como un referente en turismo patrimonial inclusivo y resiliente.

Estos logros refuerzan el liderazgo del Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo en foros internacionales de turismo y ratifican su compromiso con el desarrollo del sector en la región. Así, el Mincetur continuará impulsando iniciativas que favorezcan la integración regional y el crecimiento del turismo, en beneficio de todos los peruanos.

At this important regional forum, where the Ecuador Declaration: “Harnessing the Power of Heritage Tourism for the Development of the Americas” was approved, Peru, represented by the Vice Minister of Tourism, Madeleine Burns, and the Director General of Tourism Development Policies, Bratzo Bartra, actively participated in key discussions on sustainability, inclusion, and tourism recovery in the region.

The Ecuador Declaration and its corresponding 2030 Action Plan promote investment in tourism infrastructure, the strengthening of heritage tourism, and cooperation among the countries of the region. Within this framework, three working groups were established, highlighting Group 3, which focuses on strengthening connectivity and promoting multi-destination travel in the Americas.

Peru was elected as vice president of this group, which will allow it to actively contribute to the design and promotion of initiatives aimed at improving tourism infrastructure, fostering connectivity, and generating strategic alliances that promote integrated tourism circuits between neighboring countries. These actions aim to generate a positive impact on local communities and diversify tourism offerings on the continent.

Vice Minister Madeleine Burns also participated as a panelist in the Fourth Plenary Session, entitled “Promoting Tourism in Indigenous Communities through the Celebration and Preservation of Cultural Heritage.” During her remarks, she highlighted the Community-Based Tourism model in Peru, underscoring its importance in sustainable development and the strengthening of local communities.

He also emphasized that Community-Based Tourism in Peru is harmoniously integrated with traditional economic activities, utilizing cultural heritage and the natural environment, which differentiates the Peruvian tourism product. This approach reinforces Peru’s leadership in the region, positioning it as a role model in promoting tourism that respects and values ​​the traditions, customs, and natural resources of indigenous peoples.
