El anuncio fue realizado por el ministro Raúl Pérez Reyes, luego de una reunión de coordinación con representantes de la Asociación de Empresas de Transporte Aéreo Internacional (AETAI), la Asociación Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (IATA), la Corporación Peruana de Aeropuertos y Aviación Comercial (CORPAC), LAP y otros actores claves del sector.

“El 1 de junio, a las 00:00 horas, se iniciará el proceso de transferencia del actual terminal de Faucett al nuevo terminal ubicado en Morales Duárez, durante un periodo de 12 horas, donde no estarán en operación los servicios aeroportuarios. Esta transición será cuidadosamente planificada para garantizar que se realice de forma segura, ordenada y eficiente”, precisó el titular del MTC.

El ministro también informó que, entre el 15 de mayo y el 1 de junio, se llevará a cabo una marcha blanca con un número reducido de operaciones, que permitirá continuar afinando los procesos operativos y asegurando la familiarización de los equipos con el nuevo flujo aeroportuario.

Durante estas semanas previas, se intensificarán los ejercicios operativos en el sistema de inspección y manejo de equipaje de bodega (HBS/BHS) y en los puestos de estacionamiento para aeronaves, a fin de garantizar que todos los sistemas cumplan con los estándares nacionales e internacionales de seguridad y calidad.

“La inauguración de este moderno aeropuerto marcará un hito para el desarrollo económico y turístico del país. Desde el Gobierno, hemos cumplido con garantizar que los resultados de las pruebas sean los esperados para autorizar un inicio de operaciones seguro. Nuestro compromiso es con todos los peruanos, para que tengan un aeropuerto de primer nivel, seguro y eficiente”, destacó el ministro Pérez Reyes.

Por su parte, el gerente general de LAP, Juan José Salmón, expresó su satisfacción por el anuncio del inicio de operaciones. “Nuestro trabajo continuará con el mismo compromiso para operar un Jorge Chávez donde despeguen más oportunidades para todos los peruanos”, resaltó.

El MTC, LAP y los actores de la comunidad aeronáutica reiteraron su compromiso de trabajar de forma articulada para asegurar una puesta en marcha integral, consolidando así un hito en la modernización de la infraestructura aeroportuaria del país.

The Minister also reported that, between May 15 and June 1, a trial run will be carried out with a reduced number of operations, allowing for continued fine-tuning of operational processes and ensuring team familiarization with the new airport flow.

During these weeks leading up to the operation, operational exercises will be intensified in the hold baggage inspection and handling system (HBS/BHS) and in the aircraft parking bays to ensure that all systems meet national and international safety and quality standards.

“The inauguration of this modern airport will mark a milestone for the country’s economic and tourism development. As the Government, we have ensured that the test results are as expected to authorize a safe start of operations. Our commitment is to all Peruvians, ensuring that they have a first-class, safe, and efficient airport,” emphasized Minister Pérez Reyes.

For his part, LAP General Manager Juan José Salmón expressed his satisfaction with the announcement of the start of operations. “Our work will continue with the same commitment to operating a Jorge Chávez airport where more opportunities take off for all Peruvians,” he emphasized.

The MTC, LAP, and stakeholders in the aeronautical community reiterated their commitment to working together to ensure a comprehensive launch, thus consolidating a milestone in the modernization of the country’s airport infrastructure.
