Esta iniciativa se ha consolidado como uno de los espacios nacionales más relevantes donde converge la diversidad espiritual en torno a aspiraciones compartidas, trascendiendo las diferencias doctrinales para centrarse en lo que une a todos los peruanos: el anhelo de paz, justicia y bienestar colectivo.
DATOS CONCEPTUALES
Diálogo interreligioso: Intercambio respetuoso y constructivo entre personas de distintas tradiciones religiosas, que busca identificar valores comunes, abordar problemas compartidos y construir puentes de entendimiento sin renunciar a las creencias propias.
Espacio interreligioso: Lugar de encuentro neutral e inclusivo que reconoce la legitimidad de todas las expresiones de fe, sin jerarquías ni exclusiones, para trabajar conjuntamente por el bien común.
Fiestas Patrias: Celebraciones nacionales que conmemoran la independencia del Perú, momento propicio para reflexionar sobre la identidad nacional, la historia compartida y el futuro del país.
Bien común: Principio que orienta todas las acciones destinadas a garantizar las condiciones para que todas las personas y comunidades alcancen su pleno desarrollo, con equidad y dignidad.
DETALLES DE LA ACTIVIDAD
El encuentro se realizará el hoy martes 21 de julio, a las 7:00 p. m., en la Catedral Anglicana del Buen Pastor. Congregará a líderes de las principales tradiciones de fe presentes en el país, además de autoridades del Estado, miembros del cuerpo diplomático y distinguidas personalidades. Tradicionalmente, la ceremonia ha contado con la presencia del presidente de la República.
Bajo el lema Un país unido en la fe y la esperanza, esta sexta edición busca reafirmar que, más allá de las diferencias de credo, existen valores compartidos capaces de fortalecer la convivencia, promover el diálogo y renovar el compromiso con el bienestar de todos los peruanos.
La ceremonia se iniciará con una reflexión de Monseñor Salvador Piñeiro, arzobispo de Ayacucho y presidente del Consejo Interreligioso del Perú, para luego dar paso a dos momentos centrales de oración dedicados a la unidad y la esperanza. Durante la jornada, representantes de las distintas organizaciones religiosas elevarán plegarias por la familia, la nación, la democracia, la justicia, la protección de la infancia, los pueblos indígenas, la seguridad, entre otras intenciones que reflejan las principales preocupaciones de la sociedad peruana.
El evento también contará con la participación de la Coral Interreligiosa del Perú, integrada por miembros de diversas comunidades de fe, cuyas interpretaciones acompañarán los distintos momentos del encuentro como símbolo de fraternidad, diálogo y esperanza.
Participarán representantes de la Iglesia Católica, la Iglesia Anglicana, La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, la Comunidad Judía del Perú, la Asociación Islámica del Perú, la Comunidad Bahá’í, la Comunidad Budista Soto Zen, la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día, Luterana, Metodista, Presbiteriana y Ortodoxa Griega, así como organizaciones interreligiosas, comunidades indígenas, redes juveniles y otras congregaciones de fe y espiritualidad comprometidas con la construcción de una cultura de paz.
Desde su primera edición, Oramos por el Perú se ha consolidado como el principal encuentro interreligioso del país, demostrando que el diálogo entre las distintas expresiones de fe puede convertirse en un puente para promover la paz, la reconciliación y la esperanza en beneficio de todos los peruanos.
SOBRE EL CONSEJO INTERRELIGIOSO DEL PERÚ – RELIGIONES POR LA PAZ
El Consejo Interreligioso del Perú – Religiones por la Paz es un espacio de encuentro, diálogo y cooperación que reúne a las principales comunidades de fe con presencia histórica en el país. Desde hace más de 13 años promueve el trabajo conjunto entre las diversas tradiciones religiosas para impulsar iniciativas en favor de la paz, la justicia, la solidaridad, el cuidado de la creación y la promoción de valores éticos. This initiative has established itself as one of the country’s most important national spaces where spiritual diversity converges around shared aspirations, transcending doctrinal differences to focus on what unites all Peruvians: the longing for peace, justice and collective well-being.
CONCEPTUAL DATA
Interfaith dialogue: Respectful and constructive exchange between people from different religious traditions, which seeks to identify common values, address shared challenges and build bridges of understanding without renouncing one’s own beliefs.
Interfaith space: A neutral and inclusive meeting place that recognizes the legitimacy of all expressions of faith, without hierarchies or exclusions, to work together for the common good.

EVENT DETAILS
The gathering will take place today, Tuesday July 21, at 7:00 p.m., at the Anglican Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. It will bring together leaders of the main faith traditions present in the country, as well as State authorities, members of the diplomatic corps and distinguished citizens. Traditionally, the ceremony has been attended by the President of the Republic.
Under the motto One nation united in faith and hope, this sixth edition seeks to reaffirm that beyond differences of creed, shared values exist that strengthen coexistence, foster dialogue and renew commitment to the well-being of all Peruvians.
The ceremony will open with a reflection by Monsignor Salvador Piñeiro, Archbishop of Ayacucho and President of the Interreligious Council of Peru, followed by two central moments of prayer dedicated to unity and hope. Throughout the gathering, representatives of different religious organizations will offer prayers for the family, the nation, democracy, justice, protection of children, indigenous peoples, security, and other intentions that reflect the main concerns of Peruvian society.
The event will also feature the Interreligious Choir of Peru, made up of members from diverse faith communities, whose performances will accompany the different segments of the gathering as a symbol of fraternity, dialogue and hope.
Participants include representatives of the Catholic Church, the Anglican Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Jewish Community of Peru, the Islamic Association of Peru, the Baha’i Community, the Soto Zen Buddhist Community, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian and Greek Orthodox Churches, as well as interfaith organizations, indigenous communities, youth networks and other faith and spiritual congregations committed to building a culture of peace.
Since its first edition, We Pray for Peru has become the country’s leading interfaith gathering, demonstrating that dialogue between different expressions of faith can serve as a bridge to promote peace, reconciliation and hope for the benefit of all Peruvians.
