Esta iniciativa busca optimizar la gestión del Proyecto Especial Olmos Tinajones (PEOT), crucial para el riego de vastas áreas agrícolas en la región. El Decreto Supremo N.º 191-2025-EF autoriza la transferencia de hasta S/ 45 622 685 al GORE Lambayeque, permitiendo la ejecución de la sexagésima quinta disposición complementaria final de la Ley N.º 32416. Estos fondos están destinados a garantizar la operatividad del proyecto y la continuidad de sus actividades estratégicas, asegurando así el suministro de agua para riego y el desarrollo agrícola sostenible.

Desde agosto, equipos técnicos especializados del MEF, pertenecientes a las direcciones generales de Presupuesto Público, Abastecimiento y Gestión Fiscal de los Recursos Humanos, han estado desplegados en Lambayeque. Su misión es proporcionar asistencia técnica al GORE Lambayeque y al PEOT, optimizando sus instrumentos de gestión y procesos administrativos. Este apoyo ha sido fundamental para la elaboración oportuna de planes y la mejora en la eficiencia de la gestión del proyecto.

El PEOT juega un papel vital en la operación y mantenimiento del Sistema Mayor Tinajones, que irriga más de 87 000 hectáreas en el valle Chancay-Lambayeque. Además, supervisa la concesión de la infraestructura de trasvase e irrigación del Proyecto Olmos, atendiendo 5500 hectáreas en el Valle Viejo y 38 000 hectáreas en Tierras Nuevas, en el distrito de Olmos. La correcta gestión de estos recursos hídricos es esencial para la productividad agrícola y el desarrollo económico de la región.

El acompañamiento del MEF y Midagri no solo asegura la continuidad operativa del proyecto, sino que también impulsa la modernización de la gestión de recursos hídricos, promoviendo prácticas sostenibles y eficientes. Se espera que esta colaboración fortalezca la capacidad del GORE Lambayeque para administrar el proyecto a largo plazo, maximizando sus beneficios para los agricultores y la comunidad en general.
