La ceremonia se llevó a cabo en la Sala Eléspuru del Palacio de Gobierno, en un acto protocolar que contó con la presencia de los integrantes del Gabinete Ministerial, encabezados por el Presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Luis Arroyo Sánchez.
Con esta designación, el nuevo titular asume la responsabilidad de liderar una de las carteras más importantes para el crecimiento económico del país, encargada de promover las exportaciones, atraer inversión extranjera, facilitar el comercio y posicionar al Perú como uno de los destinos turísticos más competitivos de la región.

Berthin Enrique Gómez Vela llega al Mincetur con una sólida trayectoria construida a lo largo de años en la gestión pública, la dirección institucional y el asesoramiento legal en entidades estratégicas del Estado. Su experiencia abarca sectores clave como transporte, energía, desarrollo social, infraestructura y ordenamiento territorial.

Desde este cargo, participó en la modernización de la infraestructura aeroportuaria, un factor fundamental para el comercio exterior y el turismo.
Director de PETROPERÚ: Empresa estatal dedicada a la exploración, producción, refinación y comercialización de hidrocarburos. Aquí adquirió conocimientos sobre gestión de grandes corporaciones, normativas del sector energético y relaciones con actores nacionales e internacionales.
Presidente Ejecutivo de DEVIDA: Comisión Nacional para el Desarrollo y Vida sin Drogas.
