La reunión, de carácter protocolar, se realizó esta mañana en el Despacho de la Presidencia del Congreso. Junto a Alva estuvieron presentes los congresistas Lady Camones (primera vicepresidenta), Enrique Wong (segundo vicepresidente) y Patricia Chirinos (tercera vicepresidenta).
Durante la cita, el presidente Castillo y los integrantes de la Mesa Directiva abordaron temas referidos a la reactivación económica, la lucha contra la pandemia de la COVID-19 y la relevancia de velar y anteponer los intereses del país, en beneficio de la población. También se subrayó la importancia de que tanto el Ejecutivo como el Legislativo vayan a las regiones para realizar sus sesiones de trabajo.
La reunión se inició a las 09:05 horas y finalizó hacia las 09:40 horas. Al culminar la misma, el presidente Castillo fue acompañado por los integrantes de la Mesa Directiva hasta los exteriores del Palacio Legislativo, donde se despidieron. El jefe del Estado se retiró a bordo de su vehículo oficial.
El mandatario se había dirigido a pie a la sede del Poder Legislativo desde Palacio de Gobierno, de donde salió hacia las 08:54 horas.
A su llegada, recibió el saludo de congresistas de Perú Libre y el segundo vicepresidente del Parlamento, Enrique Wong, le dio la bienvenida en la puerta principal y lo acompañó al despacho de la Presidencia del Congreso.
