Fue el lunes 24, en el marco de las celebraciones por el vigésimo sexto aniversario de esa hazaña militar. El evento fue organizado por la Primera Vicepresidencia del Congreso, en la Plaza Bolívar del Palacio Legislativo.

El acto conmemorativo estuvo encabezado por el titular del Parlamento, José Williams Zapata, además de los congresistas Martha Moyano Delgado (FP), Silvia Monteza Facho (AP) y Alejandro Muñante Barrios (RP), primera, segunda y tercer vicepresidente del Congreso, respectivamente.

«Hace 26 años se realizó el rescate (operación Chavín de Huántar). Es significativo haber tenido el honor de haber comandado esta operación y ese grupo brillante de hombres, y tener el privilegio de haber sido elegido por el Congreso para presidir el Parlamento, por lo que estoy agradecido a Dios», expresó José Williams Zapata durante su alocución.

Dijo que acontecimientos de esa naturaleza permiten refrescar la memoria de la población y advertir en particular a los jóvenes que nunca se le debe dar oportunidad a ideologías extremistas porque éstas solo traen pérdida de la libertad, llevan al atraso, la pobreza hasta la muerte.

En otro momento, manifestó que las Fuerzas Armadas y la Policía Nacional del Perú se rigen por su ley orgánica, su reglamento, las mismas que permitieron defender la institucionalidad y respeto a la Constitución al no acatar la ilegal orden del expresidente Pedro Castillo de dar un golpe de Estado, el pasado 7 de diciembre de 2022.

Por su parte, la primera vicepresidenta del Congreso, Martha Moyano, reconoció la labor importante que tuvo el vicealmirante Luis Giampietri, en la operación Chavín de Huántar, además de la decisión política del expresidente Alberto Fujimori para no negociar con los terroristas.

“Saben bien los guerreros que fue una decisión política, estratégica, táctica y militar como ustedes lo han hecho y de la que nos sentimos orgullosos. Fue la acción más valerosa y mejor organizada que el mundo pudo exhibir. No solo participaron ustedes, guerreros, sino también los rehenes”, puntualizó.

DISTINCIÓN A COMANDOS
El titular del Congreso recibió, de manos de la primera vicepresidenta del Parlamento, un Diploma de Honor en reconocimiento al valor, coraje y sacrificio demostrado durante su participación en la exitosa acción de rescate de los rehenes de la residencia del embajador de Japón en el Perú. Así como, su contribución a la perseverancia del orden interno del país.

Posteriormente, los miembros de la Mesa Directiva y los congresistas asistentes entregaron el Diploma de Honor a los militares participantes del exitoso operativo militar.

Asistieron el evento cívico los congresistas Alejandro Cavero, Adriana Tudela y Diana Gonzales por Avanza País; Alejandro Aguinaga, Auristela Obando Morgan y Rosangella Barbarán de Fuerza Popular; Milagros Jáuregui (RP); Alfredo Azurín (SP) y Waldemar Cerrón (PL).

Además, la fiscal de la Nación, Patricia Benavidez; el presidente del Tribunal Constitucional, Francisco Morales Saravia; el contralor de la República, Nelson Shack; el vicealmirante en situación de retiro, Luis Giampietri, comandos de la PNP y Fuerzas Armadas del Perú, entre otras personalidades.
