La mandataria resaltó que, en estos 12 años, la Alianza del Pacífico se ha convertido en la octava economía mundial y la sexta potencia exportadora, representando el 42.9% del PBI de América Latina y el Caribe, generando el 57.4% del intercambio comercial en la región y atrayendo el 45% de los flujos de inversión extranjera directa, a la par de registrar notables avances en la formación de capital humano en temas de desarrollo, inclusión social y cooperación técnica.

Bajo esa premisa, la jefa de Estado expresó su confianza en que dicho bloque regional continuará con sus actividades bajo el espíritu de unidad que inspiró su creación y ratificó su compromiso de seguir trabajando para que sea un actor determinante en el escenario mundial.

En ese sentido, la dignataria agradeció la asistencia a la ceremonia del expresidente de México, Felipe Calderón; de los excancilleres de Chile, Alfredo Moreno, y del Perú, José García Belaunde, y la participación del expresidente de Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, mediante un vídeo.

“Todos ellos fueron partícipes directos de la creación de este mecanismo concebido para lograr un mayor desarrollo, crecimiento y competitividad en nuestros países a través de una integración abierta al mundo”, añadió la presidenta Boluarte en su discurso.

Asimismo, la jefa de Estado subrayó la importancia de que la Alianza del Pacífico se mantenga fuerte, viva, vigente, se fortalezca y perdure en el tiempo.

En otro momento, la mandataria reiteró su preocupación por la negativa de México de cumplir con su obligación de transferir al Perú la presidencia pro tempore de la alianza, y recordó que el país no renunciará a ejercer dicha función y mantener vivo el bloque.

“Nuestros países han alcanzado la suficiente madurez y seriedad, como para retroceder en un proceso de integración que ha generado resultados tangibles en beneficio de todos”, puntualizó.

En la ceremonia, la dignataria estuvo acompañada por la ministra de Relaciones Exteriores, Ana Cecilia Gervasi.

La Alianza del Pacífico constituye un mecanismo de integración que busca promover la integración económica, comercio, cooperación regional y competitividad entre Colombia, Chile, México y Perú.

A la fecha ha recibido las solicitudes de adhesión de Ecuador y Costa Rica para incorporarse como estados parte; es decir, como miembros plenos.

The president highlighted that, in these 12 years, the Pacific Alliance has become the eighth world economy and the sixth exporting power, representing 42.9% of the GDP of Latin America and the Caribbean, generating 57.4% of the commercial exchange in the region and attracting 45% of foreign direct investment flows, at the same time registering notable advances in the formation of human capital in development, social inclusion and technical cooperation issues.

Under this premise, the Head of State expressed her confidence that said regional bloc will continue with its activities under the spirit of unity that inspired its creation and ratified her commitment to continue working to make it a determining actor on the world stage.

In this sense, the dignitary thanked the former president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, for attending the ceremony; of the former foreign ministers of Chile, Alfredo Moreno, and of Peru, José García Belaunde, and the participation of the former president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, through a video.

“All of them were direct participants in the creation of this mechanism designed to achieve greater development, growth and competitiveness in our countries through open integration to the world,” added President Boluarte in her speech.

Likewise, the Head of State stressed the importance of the Pacific Alliance remaining strong, alive, in force, strengthened and last over time.

At another time, the president reiterated her concern over Mexico’s refusal to comply with its obligation to transfer the pro tempore presidency of the alliance to Peru, and recalled that the country will not give up exercising this function and keeping the bloc alive.

“Our countries have reached sufficient maturity and seriousness to go back in an integration process that has generated tangible results for the benefit of all,” he pointed out.

At the ceremony, the dignitary was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Cecilia Gervasi.

The Pacific Alliance is an integration mechanism that seeks to promote economic integration, trade, regional cooperation, and competitiveness between Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.

To date, it has received the applications for accession from Ecuador and Costa Rica to join as state parties; that is, as full members.
