Durante los 10 meses de recorrido, el velero se convertirá en una embajada itinerante que difundirá la cultura y posicionará la Marca Perú, a través de la promoción de productos como la papa, la quinua, el maíz, las frutas; y la riqueza cultural expresada en la artesanía, la cerámica, los tejidos y la música peruana.

“El mundo debe saber que las peruanas y peruanos no solo somos herederos de costumbres y tradiciones de civilizaciones que florecieron por siglos, sino también somos un pueblo pujante y emprendedor que construye su futuro con fe, con esfuerzo y con esperanza” refirió.

La jefa de Estado, asimismo, saludó que cerca del 20 % de la tripulación esté conformada por personal femenino, que cumplirá su misión en una embarcación construida en los astilleros del Servicio Industrial de la Marina y que constituyente el más grande y moderno de América Latina.

Resaltó también que esta misión por el mundo representa un homenaje de la Marina de Guerra a la Nación, al conmemorarse el próximo año el bicentenario de la Batalla de Ayacucho.

“El mayor desafío de la hora presente es mantener la unidad, es dialogar, es entendernos, es poner la estabilidad política, la gobernabilidad, la paz social y el bienestar en la primera línea de nuestras preocupaciones y acciones, pensando siempre en el Perú y en los más vulnerables”, apuntó.

Finalmente, la presidenta felicitó a la Policía Nacional por el duro golpe contra la delincuencia criminal con el operativo de inteligencia que implicó a Cristopher Fuentes, alias “Maldito Cris”, un buscado criminal, autor de varios asesinatos.

Acompañaron a la dignataria en esta actividad el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Alberto Otárola, los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, Ana Gervasi; de Economía y Finanzas, Alex Contreras; de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Juan Carlos Mathews; de la Producción, Raúl Reyes Pérez; de Cultura, Leslie Urteaga; de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento, Hania Pérez de Cuéllar; de Defensa, Jorge Chávez, así como del comandante general de la Marina, almirante Alberto Alcalá.

Terminada la ceremonia, la mandataria se dirigió al Hospital Nacional PNP Luis N. Sáenz, donde visitó a los tres agentes que resultaron heridos en el enfrentamiento armado contra alias “Maldito Cris” y destacó la valerosa actuación de los policías en defensa de la seguridad de los ciudadanos.

The Head of State also welcomed the fact that close to 20% of the crew is made up of female personnel, who will fulfill their mission in a vessel built in the shipyards of the Industrial Service of the Navy and which is the largest and most modern in Latin America. .

He also stressed that this mission around the world represents a tribute from the Navy to the Nation, when commemorating next year the bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho.

“The greatest challenge of the present time is to maintain unity, it is to dialogue, it is to understand each other, it is to put political stability, governability, social peace and well-being at the forefront of our concerns and actions, always thinking of Peru and in the most vulnerable,” he said.

Finally, the president congratulated the National Police for the hard blow against criminal crime with the intelligence operation that implicated Cristopher Fuentes, alias “Maldito Cris”, a wanted criminal, author of several murders.
