Todo esto a pocas horas de iniciarse la IV Reunión de presidentes de los Estados partes en el Tratado de Cooperación Amazónica (TCA) en la ciudad de Belém do Pará, República Federativa de Brasil,los días 8 y 9 de agosto de 2023.
En la reunión del día 8, los países amazónicos deberán adoptar la Declaración de Belém, que establece una nueva agenda común de cooperación regional a favor del desarrollo sostenible de la Amazonía, que concilia protección del bioma y de la cuenca hidrográfica, social inclusión, fomento de la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación, dinamizando la economía local y valorizando a los pueblos indígenas y comunidades locales y tradicionales y sus saberes ancestrales.
El día 9, los Presidentes sostienen un encuentro con líderes y representantes de países en desarrollo con bosques tropicales de otras regiones del mundo (República Democrática del Congo, República del Congo, Indonesia, además de San Vicente y las Granadinas, actual presidente de la CELAC ). . En la ocasión, se explorarán convergencias, con el fin de iniciar un proceso de construcción de posiciones coordinadas, para llevarlas a negociaciones multilaterales en temas ambientales, comenzando por la COP-28 sobre Clima y la COP-16 sobre Biodiversidad.
“Quiero agradecer la amabilidad del presidente Lula da Silva. Conversamos temas que vamos a desarrollar mañana sobre nuestra Amazonía, porque eso es lo que nos convoca en Belém do Pará”, dijo la mandataria, quien participará en la IV Reunión de Presidentes de los Estados partes en el Tratado de Cooperación Amazónica.
“Sobre todo la protección de la Amazonía, centrando su atención en nuestros hermanos que la habitan. En el caso de Perú, son 51 comunidades nativas que merecen todo el apoyo desde el gobierno, y en esa misma línea también va el presidente Lula da Silva”, agregó.
La jefa de Estado manifestó la necesidad de un mayor financiamiento al esfuerzo contra el cambio climático y más apoyo para la sustentabilidad de la Amazonía, ad portas de Cumbre Amazónica.
“No hay forma de mirar a la Amazonía si es que no se atiende con esa mirada de rostro humano”, manifestó.
Asimismo, la presidenta Boluarte señaló que desde enero la relación bilateral recuperó rápidamente su dinámica, con sucesivas reuniones de ministros de Estado y el relanzamiento de los grupos de trabajo en cooperación ambiental fronteriza, salud en frontera, facilitación de comercio e integración multimodal y cooperación técnica y científica, además de los comités de frontera sur y norte, que deberán ser instalados este año.
Destacó el repunte del comercio entre ambos países, así como la notoria recuperación del turismo, siendo Brasil el sétimo país emisor de turistas hacia el Perú, con nuevas rutas aéreas directas abiertas este año (Brasilia y Foz de Iguazú).
En la reunión también estuvieron la ministra de Relaciones Exteriores, Ana Cecilia Gervasi; el embajador de Perú en Brasil, Rómulo Acurio, y el director general de Protocolo y Ceremonial del Estado peruano, Jaime Cacho-Sousa.
