Durante los meses de setiembre y octubre realizará nuevas jornadas en beneficio de los pacientes del Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño de San Borja (INSNSB).

En setiembre, los usuarios de este servicio y el público en general que quieran sumarse a esta causa pueden acercarse, desde el lunes 11 hasta el sábado 16, y desde el lunes 18 hasta el sábado 23, a los locales 184 – 186 de la estación Central del Metropolitano (altura de los embarques 9 y 10) entre las 9 a. m. y las 4 p. m.

En octubre, las jornadas de donación se realizarán desde el lunes 16 hasta el sábado 21, y desde el lunes 23 hasta el sábado 28, en el mismo horario y en los mismos locales, que contarán con todas las condiciones y estándares de calidad necesarias para dar comodidad y seguridad a los donantes.

En lo que va del año, con el apoyo del INSNSB, la ATU promovió la recolección de 524 unidades de sangre para beneficio de 1572 niños y adolescentes que llegan a Lima desde diversas partes del país para atenderse en dicho instituto de salud en especialidades como cirugía neonatal compleja, cirugía cardiovascular y neurocirugía, casos de leucemia, entre otros.

En el Perú, la donación de sangre es escasa y para que el INSNSB pueda seguir atendiendo a sus pacientes requiere de 1250 unidades de sangre al mes, es decir, al menos 40 donantes voluntarios al día.

Cabe precisar que un donante puede salvar hasta tres vidas y cualquier persona con buen estado de salud y con un peso superior a los 50 kilos puede donar sangre. Incluso aquellos que tengan tatuajes o piercings con un año o más de antigüedad pueden hacerlo.

La ATU, a través de su presidente ejecutivo, José Aguilar, recibió de parte del mencionado instituto un reconocimiento por su trabajo como entidad aliada y comprometida con la promoción de la donación de sangre.
