A su llegada al aeropuerto John F. Kennedy, la mandataria fue recibida por el representante permanente de Perú ante la ONU, Víctor García Toma; el embajador del Perú ante Estados Unidos, Gustavo Meza Cuadra, y el representante permanente del Perú ante la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), Gustavo Adrianzén.
Mañana, la jefa de Estado intervendrá, por primera vez, en la Cumbre de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), tanto en la reunión del Foro Político de Alto Nivel sobre Desarrollo Sostenible, como en el diálogo de líderes de esta cumbre.
También tiene previsto reunirse con el presidente de Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves.
Asimismo, la presidenta, haciendo uso de la tecnología, hará despacho para seguir atendiendo los temas que permitan el desarrollo del país.
