En la ceremonia celebrada en el Palacio de Torre Tagle, el viceministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Ignacio Higueras, resaltó el trabajo coordinado entre la Cancillería, el Ministerio de Cultura, el Ministerio del Interior, el Ministerio Público y la Interpol, que “contribuyen comprometidamente al éxito de estos esfuerzos de recuperación de nuestros bienes culturales”.

Acompañado de la viceministra de Patrimonio Cultural e Industrias Culturales, Haydee Rosas, el vicecanciller Higueras indicó que gracias al fortalecimiento de la cooperación internacional y de una dinámica coordinación multisectorial, se ha colocado al “Perú como un referente en la lucha internacional contra el tráfico ilícito de bienes culturales”.

LOS 202 BIENES RECUPERADOS
La lista de 202 bienes culturales repatriados está conformada por 198 bienes que corresponden al ámbito arqueológico, uno al histórico-artístico y tres de tipo archivístico-documental.

Dentro del grupo de 198 piezas arqueológicas un total de 154 fueron devueltos voluntariamente por los ciudadanos, 42 provienen de incautaciones efectuadas por el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS) de Estados Unidos y la Policía alemana y dos fueron devueltos por el Museo de Historia Natural de Santa Bárbara en Los Ángeles, EE.UU.

Entre los principales objetos prehispánicos se encuentran dos quipus y elementos líticos como cabezas de porra y esculturas de la cultura Inca, instrumentos y fragmentos textiles pertenecientes a la cultura Chancay y piezas de metal con filiación cultural Chimú, así como piezas de cerámica de los estilos Moche, Nasca, Lambayeque, Inca, entre otros.

Mientras que un bien del tipo histórico-artístico fue devuelto por la Fundación F.C. Glundach en Alemania. Es un vaso de madera de época colonial con decoración polícroma que data del siglo XVI.

Otros tres bienes correspondientes al archivístico-documental fueron devueltos por la empresa de subastas Booneshares en Bélgica. Se trata de dos billetes impresos y manuscritos de la Junta del Crédito Nacional, de los años 1829 y 1836, y de un vale emitido por la Casa de la Moneda de Lima, de 1838.
