La ceremonia protocolar de entrega se llevó a cabo el miércoles 17 de enero, a mediodía en el centro de conferencias Limatambo ubicado en el distrito de San Isidro.

Acudieron al acto de entrega el Dr. César Vásquez, ministro de salud, quien estuvo acompañado del Dr. Einstein Aaron Jara Díaz, ejecutivo adjunto I encargado de la Unidad de Movilización de la DIGERD y otros funcionarios del ministerio. Asimismo, por parte de la Iglesia de Jesucristo, estuvo el Élder Jorge F. Zeballos, presidente del Área Sudamérica Noroeste y César Hooker, Gerente de Bienestar y Autosuficiencia del Área.

Las carpas servirán para atender la necesidad de espacio físico adicional para la atención de pacientes en hospitales del Norte del Perú, específicamente en las regiones de Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad y Ancash y para situaciones de emergencia, como las que puedan darse por el Fenómeno del Niño.

Las carpas son fabricadas con Flexilona de PVC de 700 grs x m2 ,con Black Out, resistente a los contratiempos, lluvia, sol ,vientos fuertes ,el sistema de sellado es por alta frecuencia que ayuda a que la DELTACARPA no necesite de flujo continuo de aire ,se infla en 10 minutos y puede estar inflada varios meses hasta necesitar nuevamente una recarga. Incluye inflador, luminaria, piso, ventanas con malla mosquitero y una bolsa de embalaje. Las carpas tienen un valor de US$ 177 000 y serán distribuidas por el ministerio para su uso en aumentar espacio en las instalaciones hospitalarias (55) y para cubrir emergencias (20).

Esta donación beneficiará a 28 500 personas que recibirán atención médica de primer nivel. El Ministerio de Salud ha estimado que se atenderá un promedio de 518 pacientes al año por carpa. En caso de emergencia se utilizarán las otras carpas, lo que aumentará el número de beneficiarios.
