Como parte de la intervención, se ejecuta el encauzamiento y reforzamiento de diques, para proteger las defensas ribereñas que, en los últimos años, han sufrido debilitamiento debido a los derrumbes y deslizamientos generados por el incremento del caudal del también llamado río hablador, producto de las lluvias.

Por ello, el MVCS, a través del Programa Nuestras Ciudades (PNC), dispuso el traslado de un tractor y una excavadora sobre orugas, para realizar el trabajo de enrocado en un tramo de 300 metros de longitud en la margen derecha del río Rímac, y así proteger a 500 pobladores del sector Villa Los Sauces de Ñaña y de zonas aledañas.

Está previsto que estas labores culminen el próximo 30 de enero. La meta es retirar 28,950 metros cúbicos de material como piedras, tierra, etc., del cauce del río Rímac.
