En el 2023 la nación helénica ocupó el puesto N° 68 en el ranking de destinos de la oferta peruana, cuyo ranking fue liderado por China, EE.UU., Canadá, India y Corea del Sur. Los despachos (a Grecia) ascendieron a US$ 13 millones 841 mil y representó solo el 0.02% del total.

El presidente del gremio, Julio Pérez Alván, comentó que la firma del documento es el inicio de una serie de actividades que buscarán promover la cooperación mutua y el posicionamiento internacional de sus empresas en ferias y otros certámenes.

Dos de ellas son la Expoalimentaria, a realizarse en Perú del 25 al 27 de septiembre próximo en el Centro de Convenciones Jockey y la Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) en Grecia, con el propósito de seguir diversificando los mercados de la oferta nacional sumando otros de Europa central y Los Balcanes.

“Desde el 2020 los despachos a este destino mantuvieron un crecimiento sostenido, destacando el café sin tostar o descafeinado, pota congelada, fungicidas a base de compuestos de cobre, quinua y manteca de cacao”, señaló el presidente de ADEX.

Por nuestra parte –continuó–, en el 2023 importamos de Grecia por US$ 27 millones 400 mil, resaltando los melocotones en conserva, la bentonita y los preparados de belleza y cuidado de la piel.

Asimismo, resaltó el trabajo del sector público-privado en la organización del evento Freddo Lovers, en enero pasado, en el que se promovió la exportación de café especial producido por pequeños agricultores de La Convención, Chanchamayo, Río Tambo y San Ignacio.

“Ahora ADEX y Helexpo tienen en sus manos la responsabilidad de seguir contribuyendo a la promoción comercial de la oferta existente. El documento firmado es el comienzo de una colaboración fructífera que nos permitirá mostrar los bienes y servicios de Perú y Grecia”, apuntó.

A su turno, la Embajadora de Grecia en Perú, Eleni Lianidou y el presidente de Helexpo, Anastasios Tzikas, resaltaron el potencial de ambos países y coincidieron en señalar que el memorándum firmado permitirá fortalecer y aprovechar las oportunidades existentes.

También se hicieron presentes el director de ADEX, Rafael del Campo; el director del Centro de Investigación de Economía y Negocios Globales CIEN-ADEX, Edgar Vásquez Vela, el gerente central de Exportaciones, Diego Llosa y la Gerenta de Relaciones Institucionales y Convenios del gremio, Ysabel Segura, entre otros.

1.- En el 2023 fueron 3 los sectores que resaltaron por sus montos exportados a Grecia: agro tradicional (US$ 5 millones 287 mil), pesca (US$ 3 millones 271 mil) y agroindustria (US$ 3 millones).

2.- Del total despachado a Grecia el año pasado, el 38.2% fue de productos tradicionales y el 61.8% de no tradicionales.

In turn, the Ambassador of Greece in Peru, Eleni Lianidou, and the president of Helexpo, Anastasios Tzikas, highlighted the potential of both countries and agreed that the signed memorandum will allow us to strengthen and take advantage of existing opportunities.
