Junto al presidente del Congreso, Eduardo Salhuana, y el embajador brasileño Clemente Baena, el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores explicó que la reciente inauguración del puerto de Chancay representa una oportunidad para promover una mayor integración física que permita que la complementación económica y comercial entre ambos Estados.

En ese sentido, el canciller expresó que será oportuno explorar conjuntamente la complementariedad de Chancay y otros puertos peruanos con las iniciativas de integración física promovidas por el Gobierno brasileño, como el programa “Rutas de integración sudamericana”, que incluye rutas que unirían a varios estados del Brasil con la costa peruana.

El ministro Schialer resaltó el fluido diálogo político que Brasil y Perú mantienen al más alto nivel a través de sus Cancillerías y una reunión sostenida entre los presidentes Dina Boluarte y Lula da Silva en 2023. Asimismo, resaltó que en agosto de este año los jefes de Estado conversaron telefónicamente, ocasión en la que la mandataria expresó su interés por reunirse con su par brasileño en una ciudad peruana amazónica en el 2025, el cual constituiría una oportunidad propicia para renovar la “Alianza Estratégica” establecida en 2003.

Detalló que en el ámbito económico los beneficios de la “Alianza Estratégica” son concretos dado que, según las cifras de la SUNAT, al cierre del año pasado el Brasil se convirtió en el tercer socio comercial del Perú en el mundo, con un intercambio comercial que se multiplicó siete veces en las últimas dos décadas. “Este significativo crecimiento del comercio bilateral refleja el amplio potencial de la relación entre ambos países”, puntualizó.

Por otro lado, el canciller saludó la estrecha colaboración que se mantiene con el Brasil en la Organización del Tratado de Cooperación Amazónica (OTCA). “Me permito reiterar el decidido apoyo del Perú al Gobierno brasileño en la organización de la COP30 sobre cambio climático que se llevará a cabo el próximo año en Belem do Pará”, afirmó.
