“Estamos comprometidos con impedir que estas actividades ilícitas continúen con la destrucción de nuestros ecosistemas y perjudiquen a nuestras comunidades originarias. Para ello, seguiremos desplegando los operativos en diferentes partes del país para llevar ante la justicia a quienes persisten con estas prácticas ilegales”, manifestó el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Gustavo Adrianzén.

Los operativos se realizaron en las regiones de Amazonas (4), Áncash (1), Arequipa (2), Cajamarca (3), Cusco (3), Huánuco (3), Junín (2), La Libertad (4), Loreto (2), Madre de Dios (17), Piura (1), Puno (1), Tacna (1) y Ucayali (1), y fueron liderados por la Policía Nacional del Perú, a través de la Dirección de Medio Ambiente, o la Marina de Guerra, a través de la Dirección General de Capitanías y Guardacostas, siempre en coordinación de la Fiscalía Especializada en Materia Ambiental.

En términos de valor económico incautado, la región La Libertad encabeza el listado con más de 81.6 millones de soles, seguido por Madre de Dios, Huánuco y Amazonas, donde se superó los S/ 15.6 millones, S/ 6.3 millones y S/ 4.2 millones, respectivamente.

Le siguen las regiones de Cusco (S/3.3 millones), Áncash (S/3.2 millones), Cajamarca (S/2.6 millones), Arequipa (S/2.4 millones), Junín (S/1.4 millones), Loreto (S/848 mil), Puno (S/750 mil), Tacna (S/750 mil), Ucayali (S/83 mil) y Piura (S/7.5 mil).

Uno de los operativos más importantes tuvo lugar en el distrito de La Esperanza, en la provincia de Trujillo (La Libertad), en el que se incautaron maquinarias e insumos cuyo valor superó los 72 millones de soles.

Cabe destacar que entre los bienes incautados a los mineros ilegales durante este periodo figuran, entre otros, vehículos, maquinaria pesada, motores, tanques de combustible y herramientas especializadas.

Sumando los operativos realizados durante la primera quincena, en febrero se llevaron a cabo en total 78 operativos que lograron incautar y destruir materiales y equipos cuyo valor total alcanza los 244 503 074 soles.
