Tras una reunión con el gobernador regional de La Libertad, César Acuña, y autoridades locales de la provincia de Pataz, el titular del MTC informó que se identificaron 41 puentes en estado crítico que requieren atención urgente y 18 puentes de menores luces, presentados por los alcaldes distritales de Pataz, que serán intervenidos en el marco de la emergencia por las lluvias intensas que afectan diversas regiones del país.
En otro tema, el ministro Pérez Reyes anunció que, en coordinación con la Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), se ha logrado el compromiso de US$ 4 millones para cofinanciar el inicio de los estudios de preinversión del ferrocarril Barranca – Trujillo, que tendrá 355 kilómetros de extensión y conectará con otros importantes proyectos ferroviarios. El costo total de esta obra ascendería a 5.2 mil millones de dólares.
CORREDOR VIAL 19 Y OTROS PROYECTOS VIALES
Sobre el Corredor Vial 19, el ministro Pérez Reyes detalló que el proceso de selección ha despertado gran interés, con cuatro postores presentando sus propuestas técnicas y económicas. “Actualmente, estamos en proceso de evaluación y confiamos en seleccionar al postor ganador el 15 de abril, lo que permitirá destrabar el proyecto y mejorar las vías departamentales de este importante corredor vial”, señaló.
Asimismo, anunció avances en los dos expedientes técnicos de la vía nacional 10-C, en la provincia de Pataz. “El compromiso del Gobierno es que los expedientes sean entregados por las consultoras a finales de julio. Luego, procederemos con la liberación de predios y el inicio del proceso de contratación de la obra”, afirmó el ministro.
El Encuentro Intergubernamental contó con la participación del congresista Roberto Kamiche, el consejero regional de Pataz, Luis Rodríguez, el alcalde provincial de Pataz, Aldo Mariños, así como alcaldes y representantes de los 13 distritos de la provincia.
Con estas acciones, el MTC reafirma su compromiso de impulsar proyectos de infraestructura vial que garanticen una mejor conectividad y desarrollo para los ciudadanos de La Libertad.

After a meeting with the regional governor of La Libertad, César Acuña, and local authorities from the province of Pataz, the head of the MTC reported that 41 bridges were identified as being in critical condition requiring urgent attention, as well as 18 bridges with shorter spans, presented by the district mayors of Pataz. These bridges will be repaired as part of the emergency response to the heavy rains affecting various regions of the country.
On another note, Minister Pérez Reyes announced that, in coordination with the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), a commitment of US$4 million has been secured to co-finance the start of pre-investment studies for the Barranca-Trujillo railway, which will be 355 kilometers long and connect with other major railway projects. The total cost of this project is expected to be US$5.2 billion.
HIGHWAY CORRIDOR 19 AND OTHER ROAD PROJECTS
Regarding Highway Corridor 19, Minister Pérez Reyes explained that the selection process has generated significant interest, with four bidders submitting their technical and financial proposals. “We are currently in the evaluation process and are confident of selecting the winning bidder on April 15, which will allow us to unblock the project and improve the departmental roads along this important highway corridor,” he stated.
He also announced progress on the two technical files for National Highway 10-C, in the province of Pataz. “The government’s commitment is that the files will be submitted by the consulting firms by the end of July. Then, we will proceed with the release of properties and begin the contracting process for the works,” the minister stated.
The Intergovernmental Meeting was attended by Congressman Roberto Kamiche, the Regional Councilor of Pataz, Luis Rodríguez, the Provincial Mayor of Pataz, Aldo Mariños, as well as mayors and representatives from the province’s 13 districts.
With these actions, the Ministry of Transport and Transportation (MTC) reaffirms its commitment to promoting road infrastructure projects that guarantee better connectivity and development for the citizens of La Libertad.
