Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe El vicecanciller, embajador Félix Denegri Boza, cumplió en Santiago de Chile una jornada clave, en el marco de la presidencia peruana de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), como parte de su liderazgo en la coordinación del Foro Regional sobre el Desarrollo Sostenible, espacio estratégico para acelerar el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en beneficio directo de los pueblos de la región.

Durante su discurso inaugural en la VIII Reunión del Foro de los Países de América Latina y el Caribe, sobre Desarrollo Sostenible, subrayó que el Perú ha estado comprometido con el desarrollo sostenible desde la génesis del Foro, en 2015, y que hoy reafirma su voluntad de trabajar por una región más justa, resiliente y con igualdad de oportunidades, impulsando la cooperación y promoviendo alianzas con gobiernos, organismos internacionales, sociedad civil, academia y sector privado. También puso en relieve el valioso trabajo de la Secretaría de la CEPAL, así como la contribución peruana a través de otros sectores, como el del Ministerio de Desarrollo e Inclusión Social, cuya titular participó activamente en los paneles del evento y CEPLAN.

Como parte de su agenda, el vicecanciller sostuvo un encuentro protocolar con el secretario ejecutivo de la CEPAL, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, y el secretario general Adjunto de Asuntos Económicos y Sociales de las Naciones Unidas, Li Junhua, ocasión en la que reafirmó el firme compromiso del Perú con la implementación de la Agenda 2030 y con el éxito del Foro, destacando el liderazgo peruano en la negociación del documento regional de conclusiones y recomendaciones.

Asimismo, sostuvo un encuentro con representantes de la Confederación de la Producción y el Comercio (CPC) de Chile, con el objetivo de fortalecer los vínculos con el sector empresarial promoviendo las inversiones en el país, el estrechamiento de la relación comercial, destacando el clima de negocios que ofrece el Perú y poniendo el relieve la necesidad que el sectores público y privado articulen esfuerzos conjuntos a favor del desarrollo de nuestros países.

ENCUENTRO BILATERAL
De igual modo, el vicecanciller se reunió con la Ministra de Relaciones Exteriores subrogante de Chile, Gloria de la Fuente, para repasar los principales temas de la agenda bilateral. Entre los compromisos abordados, destacan la voluntad de celebrar pronto la II Reunión de Seguridad entre los Viceministros de Relaciones Exteriores y del Interior, orientada a coordinar acciones conjuntas contra la migración irregular, la delincuencia organizada transnacional y otros desafíos comunes.

Ambos coincidieron también en la necesidad de concretar la XIII Reunión del Mecanismo de Consultas y Coordinación Política a nivel viceministerial, espacio que permitirá discutir importantes temas de la relación bilateral.

En el marco de su visita a la Cancillería chilena, el Embajador Denegri suscribió con la Canciller subrogante de Chile un Acuerdo Operativo para la adopción de un procedimiento de control migratorio simplificado, que coadyuvará en la facilitación del tránsito de personas en el paso de fronterizo más activo de la región.

Peru promotes sustainability within the framework of ECLAC by promoting the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe Vice Foreign Minister Ambassador Félix Denegri Boza held a key event in Santiago, Chile, within the framework of Peru’s presidency of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), as part of his leadership in coordinating the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, a strategic forum for accelerating the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the direct benefit of the peoples of the region.

During his opening remarks at the 8th Meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development, he emphasized that Peru has been committed to sustainable development since the Forum’s inception in 2015, and that today it reaffirms its commitment to working for a more just, resilient, and equal-opportunity region by promoting cooperation and fostering alliances with governments, international organizations, civil society, academia, and the private sector. He also highlighted the valuable work of the ECLAC Secretariat, as well as Peru’s contribution through other sectors, such as the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, whose head actively participated in the event’s panels and with ECLAC.

As part of his agenda, the Vice Foreign Minister held a formal meeting with the Executive Secretary of ECLAC, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, and the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations, Li Junhua. During this meeting, he reaffirmed Peru’s firm commitment to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the success of the Forum, highlighting Peru’s leadership in the negotiation of the regional document of conclusions and recommendations.

He also held a meeting with representatives of the Confederation of Production and Commerce (CPC) of Chile, with the aim of strengthening ties with the business sector by promoting investment in the country and strengthening trade relations. He highlighted Peru’s business climate and emphasized the need for the public and private sectors to coordinate joint efforts for the development of our countries.

BILATERAL MEETING
Similarly, the Vice Foreign Minister met with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Gloria de la Fuente, to review the main topics on the bilateral agenda. Among the commitments discussed, the desire to soon hold the Second Security Meeting between the Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Interior stands out, aimed at coordinating joint actions against irregular migration, transnational organized crime, and other common challenges.

Both also agreed on the need to hold the XIII Meeting of the Consultation and Political Coordination Mechanism at the vice-ministerial level, a space that will allow for the discussion of important issues in the bilateral relationship.

During his visit to the Chilean Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Denegri signed an Operational Agreement with Chile’s Acting Foreign Minister for the adoption of a simplified immigration control procedure, which will help facilitate the movement of people at the busiest border crossing in the region.
