Esta visión se materializa a través de políticas que fomentan la innovación, la adopción de nuevas tecnologías y el establecimiento de encadenamientos productivos que fortalecen tanto la competitividad del sector como el desarrollo territorial de las comunidades.

La minería climáticamente inteligente implica la implementación de prácticas y tecnologías que minimizan el impacto ambiental de las operaciones mineras. Esto incluye la reducción de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, la gestión eficiente del agua y la energía, y la rehabilitación de áreas afectadas por la actividad minera. Al mismo tiempo, se busca promover una minería descentralizada e inclusiva, que genere oportunidades económicas y sociales para las comunidades locales, respetando sus derechos y promoviendo su participación en la toma de decisiones.

AVANCES EN LA FORMALIZACIÓN MINERA

Uno de los logros destacados por el titular del MINEM es el avance en la formalización de la pequeña minería y la minería artesanal. A través de mayores controles de trazabilidad y seguridad, se busca garantizar que estas actividades se desarrollen de manera responsable y sostenible.

En lo que va del año 2025, el Gobierno ha brindado soporte a más de 5.000 pequeños productores y sus organizaciones, ofreciéndoles herramientas para cumplir con sus obligaciones ambientales, de seguridad, de trazabilidad y de formalización. Este apoyo es fundamental para que los pequeños mineros puedan acceder a financiamiento, tecnología y mercados, mejorando sus condiciones de vida y contribuyendo al desarrollo económico de sus comunidades.

Finalmente, el ministro Montero resaltó que EXTEMIN es una muestra de confianza en el Perú como destino atractivo para el capital y la innovación.
