The Peru Pavilion was considered one of the most beautiful architectural proposals among the 192 countries participating in the universal exposition Expo Dubai 2020 even before the opening of the event, which generated a lot of expectation among the public and the media of the Arab country. To date, the Peru Pavilion registers more than 200 thousand visitors, since its inauguration on October 1.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the most important cultural event in the world, for this reason, the Peruvian pavilion offers an emotional synthesis of our past, present and future as a multicultural and multilingual nation. Likewise, visitors can witness the best of our textiles, which, through their history and iconography, are a source of national pride at the international level.

Music and dance play preponderant roles in our identity, from its origin to the present. We highlight the presentation made on October 20, after the ribbon cutting of the pavilion, when Manuelcha Prado moved everyone present with his masterful interpretation of the Ayacucho guitar.

PERUVIAN GASTRONOMY FOR THE WORLD
All the people who visit the Peru Pavilion discover that our biodiversity is one of the largest on the planet, and offers a pantry of natural products from different regions of the country, which have contributed to forming an ancient cuisine, with strong roots, with knowledge that has been transferred from generation to generation.

Thus, renowned Peruvian chefs have been conducting master classes at Expo 2020 Dubai aimed at both children and adults.

With all the necessary sanitary protocols, the participants share experiences with expert guest chefs from the different regions, who expose all the gastronomic wealth of our country.

Participants learn about the products and the history of typical Peruvian dishes in a didactic way, and make their own preparations guided by renowned chefs.

“In the case of children, the master classes are held by groups of 25 attendees, first they make a tour of the entire pavilion where they learn about biodiversity and products, and later participate in the master class. The purpose is to promote knowledge of the Peruvian superfoods at an early age. Children, for example, experiment with these new flavors, preparing, quickly and easily, delicious cocoa and quinoa pop ice creams, “said Amora Carbajal, executive president of PROMPERÚ.

Likewise, the official added that the United Arab Emirates invests a lot in the field of education, which is why this activity of introduction of Peruvian products and their consumption is being carried out in coordination with local schools. At the end of the day, the children receive a certificate for the gastronomic experience received from Peru.

So far, the Peruvian chefs have participated in this activity, providing their experience in regional Peruvian gastronomy: Mónica Huerta (Arequipa), Richard Flores (Puno), Biviana Challapa (Ayacucho) and Flavio Solórzano (Lima); while Jesús García (Lima) and Sebastián Arút (Cajamarca) are permanently in the Peruvian pavilion.

The objective of the master classes is to promote Peruvian culture in the United Arab Emirates, demonstrating that Peru is a land of unique delights, the fruit of the millenary knowledge of our ancestral cultures and its happy encounter with valuable contributions throughout the time of the different migrations that have enriched our identity.

During the six months that Expo 2020 Dubai will last, the thousands of visitors to our pavilion will be able to take a sensory journey that will connect attendees with what lies behind our delicious gastronomy and tourism opportunities throughout the various regions of our country.
