Esta fruta se despachó en dos presentaciones, fresca y congelada. La primera representó el 96.6% del total (US$ 6 millones 451 mil) y la segunda 3.4% (US$ 230 mil). En volumen fueron 2 mil 285 toneladas (fresca) y casi 48 mil toneladas (congelada).

De acuerdo con el Sistema de Inteligencia Comercial ADEX Data Trade, en el primer mes del 2024, Países Bajos lideró el ranking de mercados con US$ 5 millones 561 mil, logrando una concentración de 83% y un crecimiento de 429%.

El segundo lugar lo ocupó Brasil, con US$ 325 mil 183 y el tercero EE.UU. con US$ 304 mil. Completaron el top five Reino Unido (US$ 196 mil 371) y Alemania (US$ 155 mil 414). Otros fueron Canadá y Colombia.

En total fueron 8 destinos a los que llegó este superfood. El incremento más importante lo presentó el ‘gigante sudamericano’ con 718%, seguido de EE.UU. con 454%, Países Bajos con 429% y Alemania con 203%.

Las empresas que exportaron esa fruta fueron Agroinca Productos Peruanos de Exportación S.A. (con una participación del 35%), Inka Select Fruit S.A.C., Siembra Alta S.A.C., Exportadora Frutícola Del Sur S.A., Frutos Tropicales Perú Export, Fundo América S.A.C., Sobifruits S.A.C., Agrícola Los Medanos S.A., Pomica Perú S.A.C., Uvica S.A.C. y Fionafood E.I.R.L.

Actualmente, la producción de granadas se concentra en Ica, donde se desarrolla alrededor del 80% del total, seguido de Arequipa, Lima, Lambayeque y Ancash. En los últimos meses surgió Tacna como otra región productora.

-En volumen, la exportación de granada fresca creció 411% y la congelada 295%.
-La granada es considerada un ‘superfood’ o ‘superalimento’, es rica en vitaminas C, E, K, entre otras, y resalta por sus propiedades astringentes, antinflamatorias y depurativas. Además, tiene bajo contenido calórico y ayuda en reducir la presión arterial.
