En la actividad desarrollada en el Palacio de Torre Tagle, el ministro destacó que los 25 alumnos que hoy se gradúan de la Academia Diplomática “Javier Pérez de Cuéllar” representan la “continuidad de una tradición de la que se nutre y está orgulloso el Servicio Diplomático, basada en la solidez de la formación académica y profesional de sus integrantes y en el compromiso con los intereses del país que se les inculca en los dos años de preparación”.

El canciller remarcó la importancia de seguir elevando los niveles de exigencia en la selección y preparación de los futuros integrantes de la Academia Diplomática, a fin de responder adecuadamente a los desafíos que presenta la dinámica compleja y altamente evolutiva del contexto global. En ese sentido, expresó su apoyo a los esfuerzos de la Dirección del destacado centro de estudios para revitalizar sus planes y programas de enseñanza.

También se refirió al nombre que lleva la promoción N° 62 de la Academia Diplomática, “Embajador Jorge Valdez Carrillo”, a quien calificó “como una figura muy destacada de nuestra diplomacia”. Señaló que el embajador Valdez, exviceministro y secretario general de la Cancillería, honró con su ejemplo imperecedero el Servicio Diplomático con su trayectoria, capacidad e integridad.

PREMIOS
Este año se gradúan 25 alumnos de la Academia Diplomática quienes ingresarán al Servicio Diplomático de la República. Adicionalmente se gradúa un becario proveniente de Chile. Durante la ceremonia se premiaron a los alumnos que ocuparon los primeros lugares en el cuadro general de méritos del primer y segundo año de estudios, y al mejor trabajo de investigación.

El premio “Embajador Igor Velásquez Rodríguez””, al primer puesto de la promoción “Embajador Jorge Valdez Carrillo” fue otorgado a la alumna Stephani Violeta Paliza Obando mientras que el premio “Embajador Gonzalo N. de Arámburo y Rosas” al primer puesto durante el primer año de estudios fue entregado al alumno Salvador Antúnez de Mayolo Otero.

Asimismo, el premio “Fundación Academia Diplomática del Perú” se otorgó al segundo puesto de la promoción, a la alumna Adriana Martínez Carrasco y el premio “Asociación de Funcionarios del Servicio Diplomático del Perú” al mejor trabajo de investigación fue dado a la alumna Daniela Alejandra Cornejo Castro.

Es importante señalar que la Academia Diplomática del Perú tiene 69 años de existencia, es responsable de la formación integral de los aspirantes al Servicio Diplomático, así como del continuo perfeccionamiento de sus funcionarios.
