Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe/ Twitter: @prensaperupe El Perú y Argentina llevaron a cabo en la víspera la Primera Reunión del Mecanismo de Diálogo Oceánico Bilateral, con el objetivo de evaluar acciones conjuntas para la conservación y gestión sostenible de nuestros mares.
En la cita, participaron de forma presencial el Embajador Librado Orozco, Director General de Soberanía, Límites y Asuntos Antárticos del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores; el Embajador del Perú en Argentina, Carlos Chocano; y el Ministro Julio Reinoso, Director de Asuntos Marítimos. Asimismo, participaron de forma virtual funcionarios del Ministerio del Ambiente (MINAM); Instituto de Mar del Perú (IMARPE), Dirección General de Capitanías y Guardacostas (DICAPI), Servicio Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado (SERNANP), Dirección de Hidrografía y Navegación (DIHIDRONAV) y de esta Cancillería.
La parte argentina estuvo presidida por la Embajadora Paola Di Chiaro, Secretaria de Malvinas, Antártida, Política Oceánica y Atlántico Sur, quien estuvo acompañada por el Embajador Javier Figueroa, Director Coordinador de Políticas Oceánicas y del Atlántico Sur, de la Cancillería argentina y funcionarios de diversas entidades de ese país vinculadas al ámbito marítimo y oceánico.
En dicha reunión se trataron temas relevantes de cooperación en materia oceánica, como Pesca Ilegal, No Declarada y No Regulada (INDNR), en investigación científica, además de coordinarse posiciones en foros internacionales como OMI, BBNJ y CIT.
Al respecto, el Perú y Argentina coincidieron en la importancia de intercambiar información sobre estrategias en monitoreo y vigilancia de flotas pesqueras.
El Perú reafirmó su compromiso con la Organización Marítima Internacional (OMI) y destacó su candidatura al Consejo del organismo en la categoría “C” para el bienio 2026-2027.
En la reunión, ambos países expresaron su compromiso de continuar trabajando en conjunto, siguiendo una hoja de ruta para promover la gestión sostenible de los océanos en la región.

The meeting was attended in person by Ambassador Librado Orozco, Director General of Sovereignty, Boundaries, and Antarctic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Ambassador of Peru to Argentina, Carlos Chocano; and Minister Julio Reinoso, Director of Maritime Affairs. Officials from the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) also participated virtually. Peruvian Maritime Institute (IMARPE), General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guard (DICAPI), National Service of Natural Protected Areas by the State (SERNANP), Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation (DIHIDRONAV), and this Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Argentine delegation was chaired by Ambassador Paola Di Chiaro, Secretary of the Malvinas Islands, Antarctica, Ocean Policy, and the South Atlantic, who was accompanied by Ambassador Javier Figueroa, Coordinating Director of Ocean and South Atlantic Policies of the Argentine Foreign Affairs Ministry, and officials from various Argentine entities related to the maritime and oceanic sphere.
At this meeting, relevant topics of cooperation in ocean matters were discussed, such as Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing, scientific research, and the coordination of positions in international forums such as the IMO, the International Maritime Organization (IUU), and the International Maritime Organization (ITO).
In this regard, Peru and Argentina agreed on the importance of exchanging information on strategies for monitoring and surveillance of fishing fleets.
Peru reaffirmed its commitment to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and highlighted its candidacy for the organization’s Council in category “C” for the 2026-2027 biennium.
At the meeting, both countries expressed their commitment to continue working together, following a roadmap to promote sustainable ocean management in the region.
