Este acto criminal tiene como fin amedrentar a todos los dirigentes sindicales que enfrentan a los delincuentes que viven del cobro de cupos y de otras modalidades extorsivas, contra los trabajadores, profesionales y empresarios. A la fecha, ya son 26 dirigentes que han sido asesinados por bandas criminales.
Por ello, reiteramos al Ejecutivo que lidere, de forma articulada, la lucha contra el crimen organizado de la mano con el Congreso, el Poder Judicial y la Fiscalía.

This criminal act aims to intimidate all union leaders who confront criminals who make a living from collecting fees and other extortion schemes against workers, professionals, and business owners. To date, 26 leaders have been murdered by criminal gangs.
Therefore, we reiterate to the Executive Branch that it should jointly lead the fight against organized crime, working hand in hand with Congress, the Judiciary, and the Attorney General’s Office.
