En la edición 2024 de este ranking global, que evaluó la capacidad de 188 países para la adopción de la IA de forma responsable, eficiente y en beneficio de la ciudadanía, el Perú se posicionó como el quinto país mejor preparado de América Latina y el Caribe, con lo que superó el promedio mundial y regional, por encima de países como Argentina y México.
“Este avance refleja los esfuerzos del Ejecutivo y, en específico, el rol fundamental de la Secretaría de Gobierno y Transformación Digital de la Presidencia del Consejo de Ministros, la cual contribuyó en la formulación e implementación de estrategias para fortalecer la digitalización del país”, señaló el jefe del Gabinete Ministerial.
El premier Adrianzén resaltó que uno de los pilares clave en este avance ha sido la gobernanza, aspecto en el que destaca el Perú con la promoción de marcos regulatorios y éticos sólidos, el desarrollo de capacidades digitales dentro del Estado y el respaldo institucional para la adopción de la IA en la transformación digital del sector público.
Sumado a ello, el país registra un desempeño sobresaliente en el ámbito de datos e infraestructura. Esto evidencia la disponibilidad y la representatividad de los datos utilizados para el entrenamiento de modelos de IA, lo que garantiza una base confiable para su desarrollo.
Cabe precisar que Oxford Insights es una consultora especializada en ayudar a los gobiernos en la incorporación de tecnologías que contribuyan a mejorar los servicios públicos.
De esta manera, el Ejecutivo continúa fortaleciendo el desarrollo ético y equitativo de las nuevas tecnologías a favor de la ciudadanía, en línea con la Política Nacional de Transformación Digital al 2030.

In the 2024 edition of this global ranking, which evaluated the capacity of 188 countries to adopt AI responsibly, efficiently, and for the benefit of their citizens, Peru was ranked fifth best-prepared in Latin America and the Caribbean, surpassing the global and regional average, ahead of countries such as Argentina and Mexico.
“This progress reflects the efforts of the Executive Branch and, specifically, the fundamental role of the Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which contributed to the formulation and implementation of strategies to strengthen the country’s digitalization,” said the head of the Cabinet.
Prime Minister Adrianzén highlighted that one of the key pillars of this progress has been governance, an area in which Peru excels with the promotion of solid regulatory and ethical frameworks, the development of digital capabilities within the State, and institutional support for the adoption of AI in the digital transformation of the public sector.
In addition, the country has recorded outstanding performance in the area of data and infrastructure. This demonstrates the availability and representativeness of the data used to train AI models, ensuring a reliable basis for their development.
