“Hoy, ante ustedes, quiero comenzar con un mensaje claro: lo mejor está por venir. El inicio de la primera temporada de pesca de anchoveta en la zona Norte-Centro 2025 representa un hecho de gran trascendencia para nuestro querido Perú”, expresó desde la Provincia Constitucional del Callao.

Esta cuota es la más alta de los últimos siete años y la segunda más elevada en la última década, lo que refleja la buena salud del recurso anchoveta y las condiciones favorables del ecosistema marino.

Durante esta primera temporada, se proyecta la generación de aproximadamente 90 000 empleos a lo largo de toda la cadena productiva, incluyendo actividades extractivas, logísticas e industriales. Este dinamismo tendrá un impacto directo en la economía de las regiones costeras, donde se concentran las principales operaciones.

“Nuestro gobierno cree en el desarrollo descentralizado, en el poder del trabajo y en el valor de nuestros recursos naturales. Por eso, renovamos hoy nuestro compromiso con una pesca que no solo sea productiva, sino también responsable, respetuosa del ambiente, transparente y con rostro humano”, enfatizó la jefa de Estado.

Seguidamente, la mandataria destacó que la pesca de anchoveta en el sur del país también se ha reactivado con notable dinamismo. Informó que, hasta fines de marzo, se descargó más del 70 % de la cuota autorizada, lo que convierte a esta primera temporada en la más exitosa de la última década en dicha zona.

Resaltó, además, que regiones como Arequipa, Moquegua y Tacna ya están sintiendo el impacto positivo de esta actividad, con más de 36 embarcaciones operando activamente y plantas procesadoras trabajando a plena capacidad, lo que dinamiza sus economías locales.

“Esta importante recuperación no solo genera empleo e ingresos, también demuestra el enorme potencial productivo del sur del país y la importancia de seguir apostando por su desarrollo pesquero”, manifestó.

En otro momento, la mandataria señaló que, en 2024, el sector pesquero registró un crecimiento cercano al 25 % y alcanzó una producción superior a los 4.6 millones de toneladas de anchoveta.

Adelantó que, para este año, se espera consolidar dicho resultado, lo que permitirá seguir dinamizando nuestras regiones, fortalecer las exportaciones y contribuir de manera significativa al crecimiento del PBI nacional.

“Gracias al trabajo conjunto desarrollado entre el Instituto del Mar del Perú y el Ministerio de la Producción, hoy el Perú puede mirar al mundo con el orgullo de saber que estamos reafirmando nuestra posición como líder mundial en pesca sostenible”, puntualizó.

During this first season, approximately 90,000 jobs are projected to be created throughout the entire production chain, including extractive, logistics, and industrial activities. This dynamism will have a direct impact on the economy of the coastal regions, where the main operations are concentrated.

“Our government believes in decentralized development, in the power of labor, and in the value of our natural resources. Therefore, today we renew our commitment to a fishing industry that is not only productive but also responsible, environmentally friendly, transparent, and with a human face,” the head of state emphasized.

The president then highlighted that anchovy fishing in the south of the country has also been reactivated with notable dynamism. She reported that, by the end of March, more than 70% of the authorized quota had been landed, making this first season the most successful in the last decade in that area.

He also highlighted that regions such as Arequipa, Moquegua, and Tacna are already feeling the positive impact of this activity, with more than 36 vessels actively operating and processing plants working at full capacity, which is boosting their local economies.

“This important recovery not only generates employment and income, it also demonstrates the enormous productive potential of the south of the country and the importance of continuing to invest in its fishing development,” she stated.

On another occasion, the president noted that, in 2024, the fishing sector registered growth of nearly 25% and reached a production of more than 4.6 million tons of anchovy.

She announced that, for this year, this result is expected to be consolidated, which will allow us to continue to revitalize our regions, strengthen exports, and contribute significantly to the growth of the national GDP.

“Thanks to the joint work carried out between the Peruvian Marine Institute and the Ministry of Production, today Peru can look to the world with the pride of knowing that we are reaffirming our position as a world leader in sustainable fishing,” she stated.
