La jefa de Estado informó que, en un plazo máximo de 48 horas, se dispondrá el toque de queda en la zona y las Fuerzas Armadas asumirán el control territorial, con el objetivo de garantizar la seguridad de la población. Asimismo, se instalará una base militar que asegure la presencia operativa permanente del Estado en la provincia.

Además, el Poder Ejecutivo solicitará al Congreso de la República la delegación de facultades legislativas para implementar medidas urgentes en la lucha contra el terrorismo urbano, a fin de reforzar el marco legal y enfrentar con mayor eficacia estos actos criminales que hoy enlutan al país.

Del mismo modo, se dispone la paralización de toda operación minera por 30 días en el referido distrito, con el fin de facilitar la instalación de las Fuerzas Armadas y de la Policía Nacional. La medida incluye la suspensión las actividades que se realizan en el marco del Registro Integral de Formalización Minera (REINFO).

Minutos antes, la mandataria expresó su profundo pesar a las familias de las víctimas y reafirmó su firme compromiso de no ceder ante el crimen ni la violencia.

En la reunión liderada por la máxima autoridad del Poder Ejecutivo participaron el presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Gustavo Adrianzén; el ministro de Justicia, Eduardo Arana; el ministro del Interior, Julio Díaz; el gobernador regional de La Libertad, César Acuña; el jefe del Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas, General David Tejada; y el director general de la Policía Nacional del Perú, General Víctor Zanabria.

“De otro lado, durante la reunión se precisó que el Ejecutivo actuó desde el primer momento en que se conocieron los hechos; sin embargo, la empresa informó inicialmente que no se había producido el secuestro de trabajadores. ‘Cuando el Estado otorga una concesión minera, la responsabilidad sobre lo que ocurra en esa jurisdicción recae en la empresa, al tratarse de propiedad privada’, se explicó.

President Boluarte’s administration orders a curfew and the establishment of a military base in Pataz for territorial control by the Armed Forces.

The head of state announced that, within a maximum of 48 hours, a curfew will be imposed in the area and the Armed Forces will assume territorial control, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of the population. A military base will also be established to ensure the permanent operational presence of the State in the province.

In addition, the Executive Branch will request that Congress delegate legislative powers to implement urgent measures in the fight against urban terrorism, in order to strengthen the legal framework and more effectively confront these criminal acts that are currently gripping the country.

Likewise, all mining operations in the aforementioned district are suspended for 30 days to facilitate the deployment of the Armed Forces and the National Police. The measure includes the suspension of activities carried out within the framework of the Comprehensive Registry of Mining Formalization (REINFO).

Minutes earlier, the president expressed her deep condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed her firm commitment to not give in to crime or violence.

The meeting, led by the highest authority of the Executive Branch, was attended by the President of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén; the Minister of Justice, Eduardo Arana; the Minister of the Interior, Julio Díaz; the regional governor of La Libertad, César Acuña; the head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, General David Tejada; and the Director General of the Peruvian National Police, General Víctor Zanabria.

“On the other hand, during the meeting it was clarified that the Executive branch acted from the moment the events became known; however, the company initially reported that no workers had been kidnapped. ‘When the State grants a mining concession, the responsibility for what happens in that jurisdiction falls on the company, as it is private property,’ it was explained.
