Desde la ciudad del Vaticano, la presidenta de la república, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, participó en la santa misa de inicio del ministerio petrino del papa León XIV, el primer sumo pontífice con nacionalidad peruana.

Al término de la santa Misa, la presidenta de la República del Perú, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, transmitió al santo padre León XIV el afectuoso saludo de nuestro pueblo, que ve fortalecida su fe con la elección del nuevo obispo de Roma, sucesor de San Pedro: un siervo de Dios que dedicó largos años a la misión evangelizadora y al servicio de los más necesitados del país. Como muestra del profundo vínculo espiritual entre el pueblo peruano y su santidad, la jefa de Estado le obsequió una cruz de Motupe, símbolo de fe y devoción en nuestro país.
