“Hoy el Perú marca un nuevo hito en su historia. No hay mayor honor ni emoción para mí que haber impulsado la construcción y entrega del nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez. Hoy podemos decir que el Perú alza vuelo con la fuerza de su gente”, manifestó.
Desde del nuevo terminal aéreo, la jefa de Estado sostuvo que, gracias a la firme decisión del Gobierno y al trabajo conjunto de miles de peruanos, el país inicia una nueva etapa de progreso, integración y modernidad.
“Cuando asumimos la conducción del país, optamos por mirar más allá de las diferencias o mezquindades políticas. Nos comprometimos a sacar adelante cada obra que beneficie al Perú, sin importar quién la hubiera iniciado, porque estas infraestructuras se inauguran para transformar la vida de las familias peruanas, conectar al país con el mundo y abrir nuevas oportunidades para todos”, enfatizó.
Seguidamente, la mandataria destacó que la inversión de dos mil cuatrocientos millones de dólares que demandó este aeropuerto no solo representa un salto en infraestructura y tecnología, sino que también confirma al Perú como una plaza atractiva y confiable para la inversión extranjera.
“Este logro se suma al imponente megapuerto de Chancay y a la millonaria inversión en el puerto del Callao, testimonios de la confianza que el mundo deposita en nuestra nación y de la capacidad de los peruanos para estar a la altura de los grandes desafíos”, anotó.
Precisó que el nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez contará con un terminal de pasajeros tres veces más grande que el anterior, con 270,000 metros cuadrados de extensión y capacidad para atender a 40 millones de pasajeros desde 2026, el doble de lo que hoy se puede recibir. Este logro consolida el liderazgo del Perú en la región.
En esa línea, resaltó que el nuevo aeropuerto peruano se inaugura en un contexto en el que el país ha retomado la senda del crecimiento económico sólido y sostenible. “Esta inauguración demuestra que el Perú vuelve a encaminarse para convertirse, una vez más, en la estrella de la región, como lo fue en años anteriores, antes de que la pandemia y la inestabilidad política nos apartaran de ese sitial. Hoy trabajamos con responsabilidad para conducir nuevamente al país hacia el lugar que merece”, remarcó.
En ese marco, recordó que en 2024 el Perú batió récords en crecimiento económico, exportaciones, reservas internacionales, estabilidad monetaria, control de la inflación, balanza comercial y reducción de la pobreza. Precisó que ese año el país creció 3.3%, ubicándose entre las economías de mayor expansión en la región.
Asimismo, previó que en 2025 el Perú alcanzará exportaciones superiores a 77 000 millones de dólares, la cifra más alta de su historia.
Agregó que, en el primer trimestre de este año, el crecimiento ha sido cercano al 4%, y reafirmó el compromiso de seguir liderando el desarrollo económico y sentando las bases para alcanzar una expansión anual del 6%. Esto permitirá mejorar los niveles de empleo, reducir la pobreza y eliminar la pobreza extrema.
“El Perú vuelve a estar de moda. Con el nuevo aeropuerto volvemos a ser el punto de encuentro y de unión con nuestra historia milenaria, con la diversidad de nuestros pueblos, con nuestras riquezas culturales, artísticas y nuestra reconocida gastronomía”, finalizó.

“Today, Peru marks a new milestone in its history. There is no greater honor or emotion for me than having promoted the construction and delivery of the new Jorge Chávez International Airport. Today we can say that Peru soars with the strength of its people,” she stated.
From the new airport, the head of state stated that, thanks to the government’s firm decision and the joint work of thousands of Peruvians, the country is entering a new era of progress, integration, and modernity.
“When we assumed leadership of the country, we chose to look beyond political differences or pettiness. We committed to moving forward with every project that benefits Peru, regardless of who initiated it, because these infrastructure projects are being inaugurated to transform the lives of Peruvian families, connect the country to the world, and open up new opportunities for all,” she emphasized.
The president then emphasized that the $2.4 billion investment required for this airport not only represents a leap forward in infrastructure and technology, but also confirms Peru as an attractive and reliable destination for foreign investment.
“This achievement is in addition to the impressive Chancay megaport and the multi-million dollar investment in the port of Callao, testaments to the trust the world places in our nation and the ability of Peruvians to rise to great challenges,” she noted.
She specified that the new Jorge Chávez International Airport will have a passenger terminal three times larger than the previous one, with an area of 270,000 square meters and the capacity to serve 40 million passengers starting in 2026, double what it can handle today. This achievement consolidates Peru’s leadership in the region.
Along these lines, she emphasized that the new Peruvian airport is inaugurated in a context in which the country has returned to the path of solid and sustainable economic growth. “This inauguration demonstrates that Peru is on its way to becoming, once again, the star of the region, as it was in previous years, before the pandemic and political instability removed us from that position. Today, we are working responsibly to lead the country back to the place it deserves,” he emphasized.
In this context, he recalled that in 2024, Peru broke records in economic growth, exports, international reserves, monetary stability, inflation control, trade balance, and poverty reduction. He specified that the country grew 3.3% that year, ranking among the fastest-growing economies in the region.
He also predicted that in 2025, Peru will achieve exports exceeding $77 billion, the highest figure in its history.
He added that, in the first quarter of this year, growth was close to 4%, and reaffirmed the commitment to continue leading economic development and laying the foundations for achieving annual expansion of 6%. This will improve employment levels, reduce poverty, and eliminate extreme poverty.
