“Los teleféricos son un sistema de transporte público que contribuye a mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas al ofrecer un sistema de transporte eficiente, accesible y sostenible. No necesitan mucho espacio, pueden superar cualquier obstáculo y, sobre todo, ahorran tiempo en el desplazamiento de los pasajeros”, explicó el presidente ejecutivo de la ATU, David Hernández.

Este sistema de transporte permite conexiones áreas, mejoran la accesibilidad y reducen el tiempo de viaje.

La ATU, a través de su Plan de Movilidad Urbana (PMU), identificó al menos tres proyectos de teleféricos que pueden atender a futuro las necesidades de viajes en Lima y Callao.

La inversión estimada de estos tres proyectos es de USD 433 millones, aproximadamente, beneficiando a más de 200 mil personas.

Teleférico Independencia – Rímac y San Juan de Lurigancho: Conectará a la población de Independencia en la zona de Plaza Norte con la Línea 1 del Metro de Lima y Callao, definiendo una estación intermodal en San Juan de Lurigancho, contando además con una estación próxima a las Lomas de Amancaes. La inversión estimada es de USD 157 millones, beneficiando a 62 mil habitantes, cuyo tiempo de viaje actual de una hora se reducirá a un aproximado de 30 minutos.

Teleférico Ventanilla – Puente Piedra: Tendría como punto de conexión el mercado de Huamantanga como gran atractor de viajes. La extensión de este teleférico será de 7 km y cruzará barreras geográficas (laderas) que dividen a los distritos de Lima y Callao. Beneficiará aproximadamente a 77 mil habitantes y la inversión estimada es de USD 119 millones. En este caso, el tiempo de viaje disminuye de 40 a 20 minutos.

Teleférico Manchay en Pachacámac: Este proyecto tendría una extensión de aproximadamente 10 km. Esta propuesta conectará la zona centro de Manchay con la Línea 1 del Metro de Lima y Callao, definiendo una estación intermodal. Además, generará una conexión hacia la zona de Lomas del Paraíso (colchón de nubes), lo cual permitirá cumplir con el propósito de transporte público y, complementariamente, utilizarlo con fines turísticos. Beneficiará a 62 mil habitantes, quienes reducirán su desplazamiento de 1 hora 40 minutos a 40 minutos. La inversión estimada de este proyecto es de USD 157 millones.

Cabe señalar que, para ayudar a la puesta en marcha de estas y otras iniciativas, la ATU firmó un convenio con la Agencia de la Promoción de la Inversión Privada (ProInversión).

Este acuerdo tiene como propósito hacer modificaciones de diseño y replanteo de los trazos, y así lograr en el menor tiempo posible que estos proyectos se ejecuten, adecuándose a las nuevas inversiones en marcha en Lima.

It will also create a connection to the Lomas del Paraíso (cloud cushion) area, which will serve as a public transportation hub and, additionally, for tourism. It will benefit 62,000 residents, who will reduce their commute from 1 hour 40 minutes to 40 minutes. The estimated investment for this project is USD 157 million.

It should be noted that, to assist in the implementation of these and other initiatives, the ATU signed an agreement with the Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (ProInversión).

The purpose of this agreement is to make design modifications and redesign the routes, thus ensuring the execution of these projects in the shortest possible time, adapting to the new investments underway in Lima.
