Agencia Peruana de Noticias PRENSAPERU.PE https://www.prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe Con el objetivo de garantizar la accesibilidad universal y facilitar el traslado de la ciudadanía hacia los centros de votación, la Autoridad de Transporte Urbano para Lima y Callao (ATU), entidad adscrita al Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC), ha oficializado un esquema operativo especial para este domingo 12 de abril, día de las Elecciones Generales 2026. Este plan contempla la extensión de horarios y el refuerzo de frecuencias en todos los modos de transporte masivo y regular bajo su jurisdicción.
SISTEMA INTEGRADO DE TRANSPORTE
Metropolitano:
El servicio troncal implementará una extensión significativa de su operación, extendiendo el cierre hasta las 11:00 p. m. —una hora más respecto al horario dominical habitual—, permitiendo así mayor tiempo para el desplazamiento de los electores.
Servicios Regulares (A, B y C): Operarán ininterrumpidamente desde las 05:00 a. m. hasta las 11:00 p. m.
Servicios Expresos: El Expreso 1 tendrá servicio de 06:00 a. m. a 09:00 p. m., mientras que el Expreso 5 funcionará de 06:30 a. m. a 05:00 p. m.
Buses Alimentadores: Mantendrán la misma cobertura que los servicios troncales, llegando también hasta las 11:00 p. m.
Corredores Complementarios:
Las rutas segregadas de los corredores Rojo, Morado y Azul ofrecerán servicio continuo desde las 05:00 a. m. hasta las 11:00 p. m., asegurando conectividad en los distritos de mayor densidad poblacional.
Aerodirecto:
La ruta especial que conecta la ciudad con el Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez mantendrá sus itinerarios y frecuencias habituales, sin modificaciones para no afectar la conectividad aérea.
RED FERROVIARIA
Línea 1 del Metro:
Se ha programado un operativo reforzado con un total de 350 servicios, lo que representa un incremento de 96 viajes adicionales en comparación con un domingo normal. El horario será de 05:30 a. m. a 10:00 p. m. La frecuencia de paso será altamente eficiente, oscilando entre 3.5 y 15 minutos, dependiendo de la franja horaria y la demanda detectada.
Línea 2 del Metro:
Funcionará dentro de su marco habitual pero garantizando plena disponibilidad, operando desde las 06:00 a. m. hasta las 11:00 p. m. con una programación de 290 carreras, cubriendo el eje este-oeste de la capital.
TRANSPORTE CONVENCIONAL Y COMPLEMENTARIO
Transporte Público Regular: Las unidades de servicio convencional tendrán una cobertura extendida, operando desde las 04:30 a. m. hasta la medianoche, ajustando su oferta de manera dinámica conforme a la demanda de usuarios.
Servicio de Taxi: El transporte individual autorizado operará las 24 horas del día, constituyendo la red de movilidad disponible en su totalidad durante toda la jornada y la madrugada.
GESTIÓN Y DERECHO AL SUFRAGIO
La ATU ha emitido un pronunciamiento dirigido a las autoridades electorales, solicitando las facilidades pertinentes para que los conductores formales puedan ejercer su derecho al voto sin interrumpir la continuidad del servicio público esencial. Para ello, la entidad ha implementado un esquema de organización por turnos (mañana y tarde), permitiendo que el personal acuda a las urnas debidamente identificado con su credencial oficial, compatibilizando así su deber cívico con su responsabilidad laboral.

1.- Movilidad como Derecho Habilitante: El dispositivo de transporte diseñado por la ATU demuestra que la infraestructura vial y ferroviaria se pone al servicio de la democracia. La ampliación de horarios y frecuencias busca eliminar cualquier barrera geográfica o temporal que pudiera impedir que el ciudadano ejerza su voto.

Regular Services (A, B, and C): Will operate continuously from 05:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Express Services: Expreso 1 will run from 06:00 AM to 09:00 PM, while Expreso 5 will operate from 06:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
Feeder Buses: Will maintain the same coverage as the trunk services, also operating until 11:00 PM.
Complementary Corridors:
The segregated routes of the Red, Purple, and Blue corridors will offer continuous service from 05:00 AM to 11:00 PM, ensuring connectivity in the most densely populated districts.
Aerodirecto:
The special route connecting the city with the Jorge Chávez International Airport will maintain its usual itineraries and frequencies without modifications, to avoid affecting air connectivity.
RAIL NETWORK
Metro Line 1:
A reinforced operation has been scheduled with a total of 350 services, representing an increase of 96 additional trips compared to a regular Sunday. The schedule will be from 05:30 AM to 10:00 PM. The frequency of trains will be highly efficient, ranging between 3.5 and 15 minutes, depending on the time slot and detected demand.

It will operate within its usual framework but guaranteeing full availability, running from 06:00 AM to 11:00 PM with a schedule of 290 trips, covering the east-west axis of the capital.
CONVENTIONAL AND COMPLEMENTARY TRANSPORTATION
Regular Public Transport: Conventional service units will have extended coverage, operating from 04:30 AM until midnight, dynamically adjusting their supply according to user demand.
Taxi Service: Authorized individual transportation will operate 24 hours a day, constituting a fully available mobility network throughout the entire day and night.
MANAGEMENT AND RIGHT TO VOTE
The ATU has issued a statement addressed to electoral authorities, requesting the necessary facilities so that formal drivers can exercise their right to vote without interrupting the essential public service. To achieve this, the entity has implemented an organizational system based on shifts (morning and afternoon), allowing staff to go to the polls duly identified with their official credential, thus reconciling their civic duty with their work responsibility.
